JTAG ConfigurationTable 7–20. Dedicated Configuration Pin Connections During JTAGConfigurationSignalnCEnCEOMSELnCONFIGnSTATUSCONF_DONEDCLKDescriptionOn all Stratix II or Stratix II GX devices in the chain, nCE shouldbe driven low by connecting it to ground, pulling it low via aresistor, or driving it by some control circuitry. For devices thatare also in multi-device FPP, AS, PS, or PPA configurationchains, the nCE pins should be connected to GND during JTAGconfiguration or JTAG configured in the same order as theconfiguration chain. On all Stratix II or Stratix II GX devices in the chain, nCEO can beleft floating or connected to the nCE of the next device. These pins must not be left floating. These pins supportwhichever non-JTAG configuration is used in production. If onlyJTAG configuration is used, tie these pins to ground.Driven high by connecting to V CC , pulling up via a resistor, ordriven high by some control circuitry.Pull to V CC via a 10-kΩ resistor. When configuring multipledevices in the same JTAG chain, each nSTATUS pin should bepulled up to V CC individually.Pull to V CC via a 10-kΩ resistor. When configuring multipledevices in the same JTAG chain, each CONF_DONE pin shouldbe pulled up to V CC individually. CONF_DONE going high at theend of JTAG configuration indicates successful configuration.Should not be left floating. Drive low or high, whichever is moreconvenient on your board.7–88 Altera CorporationStratix II Device Handbook, Volume 2 May 2007
