This is to ensure that DATA0 and DCLK are not left floating after configuration. For example, ifyou are also using a configuration device, the pull-up resistors on DATA0 and DCLK are not needed.(3) Pin 6 of the header is a VIO reference voltage for the MasterBlaster output driver. VIO should match the device’sV CCIO . Refer to the MasterBlaster Serial/USB Communications Cable Data Sheet for this value. In theByteBlasterMV, this pin is a no connect. Passive Serial ConfigurationIf you are using a download cable to configure device(s) on a board thatalso has configuration devices, you should electrically isolate theconfiguration device from the target device(s) and cable. One way toisolate the configuration device is to add logic, such as a multiplexer, thatcan select between the configuration device and the cable. Themultiplexer chip should allow bidirectional transfers on the nSTATUSand CONF_DONE signals. Another option is to add switches to the fivecommon signals (nCONFIG, nSTATUS, DCLK, DATA0, and CONF_DONE)between the cable and the configuration device. The last option is toremove the configuration device from the board when configuring theFPGA with the cable.
