Operating ConditionsfFor more information about SRunner, see the SRunner: An EmbeddedSolution for Serial <strong>Configuration</strong> Device Programming White Paper and thesource code on the Altera web site (www.altera.com).Serial configuration devices can be programmed using the APU with theappropriate programming adapter (PLMSEPC-8) via the Quartus IIsoftware, USB Blaster, EthernetBlaster, or the ByteBlaster II downloadcable via the Quartus II software. In addition, many third-partyprogrammers, such as BP Microsystems and System General, offerprogramming hardware that supports serial configuration devices.During in-system programming of a serial configuration device via theUSB Blaster, EthernetBlaster, or ByteBlaster II download cable, the cablepulls nCONFIG low to reset the FPGA and overrides the 10-kΩ pull-downresistor on the FPGA’s nCE pin (see Figure 4–2). The download cable thenuses the four interface pins (DATA, nCS, ASDI, and DCLK) to program theserial configuration device.
