Generic Interrupt Controller8.1 About the Generic Interrupt ControllerThe GIC collates and arbitrates from a large number of interrupt sources. It provides:• Masking of interrupts.• Prioritization of interrupts.• Distribution of the interrupts to the target processors.• Tracking the status of interrupts.• Generation of interrupts by software.• Support for Security Extensions.• Support for Virtualization Extensions.The Cortex-A15 MPCore GIC is compliant with version 2.0 of the ARM Generic InterruptController Architecture Specification.This chapter only describes features that are specific to the Cortex-A15 MPCoreimplementation.ARM DDI 0438I Copyright © 2011-2013 ARM.
