A general introduction to the United States divided into three topics: geography (physical and
cultural), history and education/everyday life. There will be readings from the course book
(Hermann Bendl, /Landeskunde - United Kingdom and the USA, /Manz Verlag, ISBN 3-7863-
2001-2), and handouts provided by the instructors. There will be a test on each of the three
topics.
