The subject, Voice/Choir practice, is a complex subject which combines practical artistic,
scientific, and didactic elements as well as music theory. Here, skills acquired in minor subjects
such as music theory and ear training (harmony, rhythm) music history, music science
(performance practice and style), didactics (studying songs and work with Orff instruments)
and instrumental and school oriented playing are coordinated with skills put into practice by
students. Main emphasis lies on developing skills for strengthening and caring for the students
voices.

After the development of play-technical abilities and talents we work on a well performed
recitation of music of two different epochs. Songs of different genres should be accompanied by
an instrument as well as possible. Abilities in playing ensembles will be developed.

Referat mit schriftl. Ausarbeitung
Students will gain an insight into the variety of musical forms as well as into the most
important formal principles of music. Musical forms will be clarified on the basis of an analysis
of famous past and present composers. Additional pieces of advica with regard to literature will
be given in the course of the seminar.
