95, of Colonial Heights died Monday, Sept. 25, 2006. She was preceded in death by her<br />

parents, Rosella Elizabeth Shular and Charlie Franklin Sutphin; husband, Claude Wilton<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; daughter, Carolyn E. <strong>Gunn</strong>, and son, Hugh J. <strong>Gunn</strong>; sisters, <strong>My</strong>rtle Harrison,<br />

Violet Shields, Annie Meeks, Mary Jane Travis, Virginia Wicks; brothers, Robert Sutphin,<br />

C.W. Sutphin and Raymond Sutphin. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a member of Highland United<br />

Methodist Church. Survivors include seven sons, Wade W. <strong>Gunn</strong> and wife, Adelle, of<br />

Stephens City, Va., Leonard F. <strong>Gunn</strong> and wife, Deana, of Colonial Heights, Kenneth C.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> and wife, Abigail, of Madison, N.C., Harold R. <strong>Gunn</strong> and wife, Alice, of Varina,<br />

Robert L <strong>Gunn</strong> and wife, Phyllis,of Colonial Heights, William (John) <strong>Gunn</strong> and wife,<br />

Janice, of Colonial Heights and Douglas (Mac) <strong>Gunn</strong> and wife, Linda, of Dinwiddie; two<br />

daughters, Bettie G. Phillips of Chesapeake, Va., and Patricia (Diane) Baker of Highland<br />

Springs; a brother William Earl Sutphin of Ga.; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren<br />

and one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be<br />

held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin<br />

Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. Keith Ritchie<br />

officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the<br />

funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to<br />

Thursday, September 18, 2003 - Bessie <strong>Gunn</strong>, 71, of Ridgely, Tennessee, died Friday, Sept.<br />

12, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Services were Wednesday at Ridgely<br />

Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Sanders officiating. Burial was in Citizen<br />

Cemetery in Tiptonville. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.<br />

Bessie Jo Coble, 74, of Waverly were 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2005 from the chapel of<br />

Luff Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Dennis Perkins and Rev. Mark Medley<br />

officiating. Interment followed in Chessor Cemetery in Coble. Mrs. Coble, a lifelong<br />

resident of Humphreys County, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in<br />

Nashville. She was a retired packer for Acme Boot Co. and attended at First Baptist<br />

Church in Waverly. Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Adams and her husband,<br />

Nelson of Waverly, Rena Hall and her husband, Lee of Goodlettsville and Judy Manor and<br />

her husband, Troy of Waverly; three sisters, Ora Lee Stewart of Waverly, Bobbie Jean<br />

Cogdill of Dickson and Katherine Medley of Nashville; three sisters-in-law, Patty Collier of<br />

Waverly, Rue Brigham of Waverly and Maxine Jackson of Nashville; grandchildren, Jason
