John Edward <strong>Gunn</strong> 68, Indianapolis, died Oct. 30, 2006. Services: 1 p.m. Sat. Nov. 4 in<br />

Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, with calling there from 4 p.m. to 8<br />

p.m. Fri. Nov. 3. Burial: Crown Hill Cemetery. John E. <strong>Gunn</strong> 68, Indianapolis, passed<br />

away Monday, October 30, 2006. He was born February 18, 1938 in Indianapolis to the late<br />

Carl and Freida Barrick <strong>Gunn</strong>. Survivors include sons, Larry R. (Patricia) <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

Martinsville, Steve Edward <strong>Gunn</strong>, Richard Allen <strong>Gunn</strong> and Carl Allison <strong>Gunn</strong>; daughters,<br />

Deborah (Babak) <strong>Gunn</strong>, London, England and Sherri Lynn <strong>Gunn</strong>; grandchildren, Marie<br />

Gross, Krystal Finchum and Ce-Ann <strong>Gunn</strong>; great-grandchildren, Cameron Gross,<br />

Zacchaeus Gross and Maddilyn <strong>Gunn</strong>. John had been employed 17 years as Housekeeping<br />

Superintendent at the Indiana School for the Blind, retiring in 2003. He had previously<br />

been employed 30 years by West Baking, Tastee Bakery and Colonial Baking Co. and was<br />

a member of the Bakery & Confectionary International Union of America Local 372A.<br />

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 4 in Singleton Community Mortuary and<br />

Memorial Center, with visitation there from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 3. Interment will<br />

be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial gifts have been suggested to St. Jude Childrens<br />

John Edward <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Natches, Mississippi. February 20, 1924. The body of the Right Rev. John Edward <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

sixth bishop of Matchez who died in <strong>New</strong> Orleans yesterday, arrived tonight and will lie in<br />

state in St. Marys cathedral until conclusion of funeral services tomorrow morning.<br />

Archibishop Shaw of <strong>New</strong> Orleans will be celebrant of a high requiem mass, while Bishop<br />

Morris of Little Rock will deliver the funeral sermon. Dignataries of the church expected<br />

for the funeral will include seven bishops and probably fifty priests. Interment will be in<br />

the Natchez cemetery. Bishop <strong>Gunn</strong> was former pastor of Sacred Heart church here in<br />

Atlanta. The Atlanta Constitution, Feb 20, 1924.<br />

John Edward "Bus" <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

age 58, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away October 13, 2009, peacefully under the care of the<br />

Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 27, 1951, to Lauren<br />

and Leota <strong>Gunn</strong>. He proudly served our country during the Vietnam War as a member of<br />

the United States Army. Once home John was employed at Jeep for 27 years till he retired.<br />

John was a former Commander for VFW Post 2898 for 3 terms. He enjoyed hunting and<br />

fishing with his family and particularly camping with his wife. John loved Ohio State and<br />

the Pittsburg Steelers football teams. Some of his best time was spent kicking back with his<br />

dog. His sense of humor and zest for life will be dearly missed. We all know John loved his<br />

barley and hops and the beauty of what Mother Nature provides. John was preceded in<br />

death by his father, Lauren <strong>Gunn</strong>; stepdaughter, Carrie Packard; sister, Darlene Geiser.
