Transit of Jonesboro. Steve was a man who knew that a successful life has nothing to do<br />

with monetary wealth but a wealth of family and friends and he lovingly cultivated<br />

relationships with family and friends every day of his life for he loved his family and<br />

friends above all else. Those closest to him knew this best of all but anyone he ever met<br />

knew that in Steve they could find an altruistic soul a generous smile a tender heart a<br />

successful man. Survivors include a sister and her husband Rebecca <strong>Gunn</strong> Shipman and<br />

Randy of Jonesboro; two nephews Chris Shipman and wife Sarah of Baton Rouge La. and<br />

Josh Shipman; a niece Angel Shipman and a great-niece Evelyn Shipman all of Jonesboro;<br />

and many other family and friends. Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Gregg-Langford<br />

Bookout Funeral Home300 West Matthews Ave. Jonesboro. A celebration of his life will be<br />

at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Adams officiating. Burial will<br />

follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are David<br />

MayShane TimmonsWayne TimmonsMurphy OwenClarence Shinault and Stephen Cox;<br />

and as honorary pallbearers Steve's family of fellow drivers and co-workers. In lieu of<br />

flowers a memorial fund has been set up with Timmon's Transit to help the family.<br />

born March 14, 1945 died October 4, 2000. Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services,<br />

Maryvale Chapel in Phoenix, Arizona is in charge of arrangements.<br />

56, of <strong>New</strong> Salem, Texas formerly of Burgettstown, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007, in<br />

Uniontown Hospital. He was born October 24, 1951, in Washington, a son of the late James<br />

Edward <strong>Gunn</strong> and Frances Melba <strong>Gunn</strong>. He was formerly employed delivering newspaper<br />

bundles for the Observer-Reporter and as a maintenance man for Brownsville Dairy<br />

Queen. A brother, Ronald <strong>Gunn</strong> and wife Patricia of <strong>New</strong> Salem, survives. Friends will be<br />

received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and until 11 a.m., the hour of service, Saturday,<br />

December 29, in Dearth Funeral Home, <strong>New</strong> Salem, with Pastor Andy Miles officiating.<br />

Interment will follow in Salem View Cemetery, <strong>New</strong> Salem.<br />
