Carol Ann Posey and husband Steven A. Posey. He was the son of the late Clifford Burrell<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> and Marguerite Melba Tell <strong>Gunn</strong>, brother of Melba Laura <strong>Gunn</strong> Britt; brother-in-law<br />

of Dorothy Maxine Prezbindowski; grandfather of Stephanie Claire Oppland (Robert Zelle),<br />

Lauren Ashley Zes (Daniel Zes), Caitlin Suzanne Oppland, Charles William Oppland and<br />

Danielle Renee Posey; and great grandfather of Robert Carter Zelle and Julia Britt Zelle. He<br />

was also survived by other relatives, family members and numerous friends. Age 88 years, a<br />

native of St. Louis, Mo. and a resident of Slidell, since 1980; Buzz served his country in the US<br />

Navy during WWII and was a retired cartographer for the U.S. Government. He was a<br />

member of the First Presbyterian Church of Slidell, the Northshore R/C Club, and the Krewe<br />

of Dominique. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at<br />

Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell,Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at 11 a.m.<br />

Visitation will begin today from 4-7p.m. and will continue Thursday morning from 9-11a.m.<br />

Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, Miss. at 1:30 p.m.<br />

Allen H. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Lynchburg, Virginia, June 30, 1933 - Allen Hargrave <strong>Gunn</strong>, 41, son of Mrs. Ellwood Carter<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> of this city and the late Rev. E. Sterling <strong>Gunn</strong>, died Thursday at his home at Garrison,<br />

<strong>New</strong> York. The body will be brought to St. Johns Episcopal Church in Halifax for burial. In<br />

addition to his mother, Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by a sister, Mrs. J. <strong>New</strong>ton Grodon of this city<br />

and two brothers, Carter <strong>Gunn</strong> of Lynchburg, and the Rev. George <strong>Gunn</strong>, rector of the<br />

Allen Keith <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

75, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Services are 3 pm<br />

today at Forest Baptist Church with burial in Cash Cemetery in Scott County.<br />

Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong>, a humble, Christian, family man was born June 6, 1935 in Lena, MS to Ottie Lee<br />

and Glover <strong>Gunn</strong>. He graduated with honors from Lena High School and was an All-State<br />

basketball player. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a life long resident of Scott County and served his country<br />

for 2 years in the U. S. Army. He was associated with the poultry industry in Scott County for<br />

over 40 years and actively served on the Federal Land Bank for 30 years. Always a<br />

conservationist at heart, Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was honored as Outstanding Scott County SWCD<br />

Conservationist of the Year 2009.He was a member of Forest Baptist Church for over 40 years<br />

where he had served on the Properties Committee and was an active member of the Joy<br />

Makers Sunday School Class. He is survived by his high school sweetheart of 54 years, Ruth<br />

Sessums <strong>Gunn</strong>; two daughters, Renea Hurdle and husband, Jimmy of Forest and Becky<br />

Williams and husband, Dean of Madison; five grandsons, Jason Hurdle, Justin Hurdle, Jon<br />

Marc Killebrew, Jacob Killebrew and Joseph Killebrew; one sister, Sara Ruth Hardin of<br />

Jackson; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made Cash Cemetery, Inc., P. O.<br />

Box 222, Lena, MS 39094, where Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> served as President of the Cemetery Committee<br />

84, retired furniture worker, died June 1, 1990, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Funeral<br />

is 3 p.m. Sunday at Bass-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight. Survivors are
