Grove, California. He is also survived by his mother, Gladys Gunn; sister, Nanda Bryan;
brother, Jim Gunn; and brother-in-law, Larry Yandell, all of Austin, Texas, as well as many
nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A celebration of Billy"s life will be held Saturday,
February 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jackson United Methodist Church in Jackson,
California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the World Wildlife

William B. Gunn, a resident of Petal, Miss., died Sunday at a Hattiesburg hospital. He was 82.
Gunn, a deacon and member of Crestview Baptist Church, was retired as a heavy equipment
operator from Warren Paving Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is
survived by his wife, Hazel Horn Gunn of Petal; two sons, William W. Gunn and Gerald G.
Gunn, both of Petal; a brother, Clyde Gunn of Grand Bay; a sister, Velma Walker of
Semmes; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.Visitation will be this evening
from 5 to 8 at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Services are set for 10 a.m.

of St. Joseph. Sgt. Maj. Gunn was born May 9, 1920, in Ira. He was a member of VFW Post
9190 in Haltom City and American Legion Post 75 in Mineral Wells. Survivors: Wife, Louise
Gunn of Haltom City; sons, Ernest William Gunn of Granbury and John R. Mitchell of
Plano; daughter, Brenda J. Allen of Fort Worth; brother, Stanley Gunn of Waco; sisters,
Fayteen Moore of Weatherford, Mary Lee Lenk of Marysville, Mich., and Betty M. Hester,
Weatherford; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

87, of Mill Cove Road died Monday at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, a son of the late
Peter J. and Marie (Degnan) Gunn, he was a lifelong Warwick resident. Mr. Gunn was a
letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years before retiring in 1983. He was a WWII
Navy veteran. He leaves 2 sisters, Anne E. Gunn and Martha B. Gunn both of Cranston. He
was the brother of the late James T., Mary T., and Angela H. Gunn. His funeral will be
