Moss White of Danville, is survived by her husband, C. W. <strong>Gunn</strong> and nine children,<br />

Eunice, Eldred, B. W., Aaron, Morris, Clarine, Leroy, Ray and Avie. Pallbearers were J.<br />

Paul Glick, J. W. Nash, C. M. Allen, Robert Showalter, J. C. Wingold and Theodore<br />

Ripberger.<br />

Avie White <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Mrs. C. W. <strong>Gunn</strong> - September 24, 1939 - Richmond Times Dispatch Page 14 - Kenbridge,<br />

Va - Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday for Mrs. Avie White <strong>Gunn</strong>, age 38, who<br />

died suddenly Sunday morning at her home near Kenbridge. Besides her husband, C. W.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> she is survived by nine children, Eunice, Eldred, B. W., Aaron, Maurice, Clarice,<br />

leroy, Ray and Avie Ann; her parents Mr. And Mrs. Joseph White of Danville; two sisters,<br />

Miss Nellie White of Richmond, and Mrs. Ruby Bohannon of Ringold, and two brothers,<br />

Herbert White of Danville, and J. T. White of Washington.<br />

Avie Ann <strong>Gunn</strong> Bowman<br />

Avie Bowman, 72, of Chapel Hill, NC, died peacefully in her home on Friday, September 4,<br />

2009. Ms. Bowman was a long-time resident of Chapel Hill, but much of her heart and<br />

spirit remains in Kenbridge, VA where she was born and lived with her eight siblings in a<br />

beautiful antebellum farmhouse. Upon graduation from High Point College, she became a<br />

very popular and passionate elementary school teacher until 1979. During her second<br />

career, she was the owner of Avie’s Hallmark Shop for 23 years where she was admired<br />

and loved by her patrons and other business owners in Chapel Hill. In retirement, she<br />

formed Avie’s Creations and joined the amazing talented artists at WomanCraft where she<br />

could display and market her award winning quilts and other crafts. Her work can be<br />

found in many homes and businesses in Chapel Hill and her trademark boxer shorts are<br />

worn by thousands nationwide. Surviving are: her three sons, Tony Bowman and wife,<br />

Ronda, Keith Bowman and wife, Christy, Eric Bowman and wife, Cyndie; siblings Eldred<br />

Cecil <strong>Gunn</strong>, Dr. Clairene <strong>Gunn</strong> Weaver and Ray Robin "Buck" <strong>Gunn</strong>; and dozens of<br />

nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009<br />

at University Methodist Church in Chapel Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be<br />

made to Quilts for Kid (Thomas and Sarah Boatwright <strong>Gunn</strong> desc)<br />

Azilee <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Died Friday at a local hospital Miss Azilee <strong>Gunn</strong> of Cartersville, Georgia, in her 40 th year.<br />

She is survived by two brothers, Messrs W. A. <strong>Gunn</strong> and T. A. <strong>Gunn</strong> and one sister Mrs. E.<br />

A. Goding of Atlanta. The body will be carried to Cartersville, Georgia for burial. Atlanta<br />

Constitution May 19, 1928<br />

B. B. <strong>Gunn</strong>, 82, of Dawson, formerly of Pleasant Grove, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28,<br />

1999 at a Dallas hospital. Family members will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Wade<br />

Funeral Home in Hubbard, Texas. Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Wade Funeral Chapel<br />

in Hubbard with Mr. Durwood Boggs officiating. Interment will follow at Dawson<br />

Cemetery. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was born Dec. 7, 1916 in Groesbeck. He had been a resident of<br />

Pleasant Grove for 50 years before moving to Dawson. He had worked for Proctor &
