Mrs. Lucy <strong>Gunn</strong>, 73 years old, the wife of C. S. <strong>Gunn</strong> died yesterday afternoon September<br />

13, 1908, at her home 22 North Boeke Street, Kansas City, Kansas. She had lived in<br />

Kansas City, Kas., twenty years. She leaves a son and a daughter. Funeral services will be<br />

held at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas.<br />

The Rev. R. J. Church will conduct the service.<br />

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the Great Bend Cemetery for Lucy<br />

Elizabeth <strong>Gunn</strong>, two - day old daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. Douglas <strong>Gunn</strong>, who died<br />

Monday morning Oct 6, 1969, at a hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. The Rev. William Hickerson<br />

will officiate. A memorial fund will be established in Lucy's name at the First<br />

Congregational United Church of Christ. Survivors include the parents, of Syracuse. N.Y.:<br />

paternal grandparents, Mr. and M r s. Charles <strong>Gunn</strong>, maternal grandparents. Dr. and<br />

Mrs. Lee T. Railback, who are in Zaria, Nigeria. Africa Also surviving are a maternal<br />

great-grandmother, Mrs. Albert Henry of Wichita and paternal great - grandfather, Ernest<br />

E. Eppstein. 9 Cook and Weber Funeral Home, Great Bend, Kansas, is in charge of local<br />

arrangements<br />

Yanceyville, NC-It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Lucy Ann <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

56, of 3421 Foster Road, Yanceyville, N.C., who died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at her<br />

residence. She was a native of Caswell County, N.C., the daughter of David <strong>Gunn</strong> and<br />

Ethylene Brown <strong>Gunn</strong>, born April 12, 1953. She was a member of Graves Chapel Baptist<br />

Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir and Usher Board. She was also<br />

musician at the following churches: Graves Chapel Baptist Church in Yanceyville, N.C.,<br />

Brown's Chapel Missionary Baptist in Gibsonville, N.C., Gethsemane Baptist Church in<br />

Dry Fork, and Beulah Baptist Church in Leasburg, N.C.She was a graduate of Caswell<br />

County High School and furthered her education and graduated from Piedmont<br />

Community College, Alamance Community College and A and T State University, where<br />

she earned a B.S. degree and a Masters degree in Reading. She was a reading teacher at<br />

Oakwood Elementary School in Yanceyville for more than 30 years and she was a school<br />

bus driver for eight years. She was predeceased by one sister, the Rev. Kitty <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Blackwell; two aunts, Glossie Bell Henderson and Helen <strong>Gunn</strong>; two uncles, Joe Eddie<br />

Brown and Hoston Brown; and two-step uncles, George Irving Pinchback and Leroy<br />

Pinchback. Her survivors are parents, David <strong>Gunn</strong> and Ethylene <strong>Gunn</strong>, of Yanceyville,<br />

N.C.; two sisters, Wyllean G. Thompson ( Charlie ) of Blairs, and Warneda G. Long ( the<br />

Rev. Henry), of Yanceyville, N.C.; brother-in-law, the Rev. John Blackwell of High Point,<br />

N.C.; two uncles, Robert Lee Brown, of Reidsville, N.C. and Houston Brown (Annalene), of<br />

Yanceyville, N.C.; two aunts, Mayrene Gwynn, of Yanceyville, N.C. and Louella Cole, of<br />

Greensboro, N.C.; three step-uncles, Larry Pinchback of Danville, Harry Pinchback of<br />

Burlington, N.C., and Reuben Pinchback; four step-aunts, Ruth Chandler, Nancy<br />

Pinchback, Linda Hines and Sarah Pinchback; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral<br />

services for Ms. Lucy Ann <strong>Gunn</strong> will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Cedar Grove<br />

Memorial Building, Highway 158 W. Yanceyville, N.C. Pastor Kenneth Walker will deliver<br />

the eulogy. Interment will follow at the Graves Chapel Baptist Church cemetery. A<br />

viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Fulton Funeral Home Chapel. The family at
