Mildren Jean <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Azle, Texas - Mildred Jean <strong>Gunn</strong>, a former teacher and real estate agent, died Friday at an<br />

Azle nursing home. She was 76. Funeral will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Ash Creek Baptist<br />

Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in Ash Creek Cemetery. White"s Azle<br />

Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was born in Alpine and lived in Azle<br />

from 1940 to 1962 and from 1984 until her death. She was a graduate of Texas Christian<br />

University. Survivors: Son, John Reginald <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. of Garland; daughter, Barbara Jean<br />

Ryon of Azle; brother, John Matthews of Houston; two sisters, <strong>My</strong>rtle Arnett of Groves and<br />

Flora Ruth of Seymour, Tenn.; and four grandchildren. May 17, 1992 Fort Worth Star<br />

Fern Mildred Langner <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

92, died at Linden Court in North Platte, Neb., August 23, 2006. Christian wake services are<br />

at 6:30 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Chapel in North Platte. Funerals services are at 11<br />

a.m. Saturday at St. Patricks Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Golka officiating. Visitation<br />

is from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. The rosary will be said<br />

at 7 p.m. Sunday at Rudes Funeral Home in Brookings. Burial is at 11 a.m. Monday at the<br />

Aurora Cemetery in Aurora. A memorial has been established to Linden Court to benefit her<br />

many friends there. She was born Aug. 14, 1914, to Fred and Frieda Ploeger Langner in<br />

Schaller, Iowa. She spent her childhood days in the Aurora, Brookings area where she<br />

graduated high school in Aurora in 1932. She attended her 73rd class reunion in 2005. She<br />

married Johnny J. <strong>Gunn</strong> on June 9, 1934, in Sioux Falls, and has resided in North Platte for<br />

25 years. Survivors include a daughter, Frieda Heinzen (Lawrence Ostendorf) of North<br />

Platte; a son, John F. ( Shirley) <strong>Gunn</strong> of Loveland, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Jean Goodson of<br />

Salisbury, N.C.; two sisters, Ardell Miller of Lake Benton, Minn., and Irma Wilber of<br />

Zimmerman, Minn.; a brother, Alvin (Ruth) Langner of Pipestone, Minn.; 14 grandchildren;<br />

24 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her<br />

husband, Johnny; two sons, Lee and Thomas; and a brother, Lester Langner.<br />

Mildred Hulett <strong>Gunn</strong> Vaughn<br />

Services for Mildred Hulett <strong>Gunn</strong> Vaughn of McRae, Georgia were held at 11 a.m. Saturday,<br />

June 17 at Rebecca Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.Vaughn, 80, died<br />

Tuesday, June 13, 2006. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Rebecca Hulett, and<br />

was the widow of John F. <strong>Gunn</strong> and Kenneth Vaughn.She was a native of Telfair County,<br />

where she lived most of life. She and her husband moved to Thomaston in late 1940s,<br />

returning to Telfair County in 1981. She was employed as a line inspector with Federal<br />

Paper Board for several years. Survivors include her children, Wayne <strong>Gunn</strong> and Janet<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, both of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Lola Mae Bowen of Jacksonville, Lucille Carnes, Juanita<br />

Durham, and Minnie Spires, all of Milan; and several nieces and nephews also survive.<br />
