William A. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

died suddenly at Leonard Hospital Sept 23, 1961. William A. <strong>Gunn</strong> husband of Katherine<br />

Trumple; father of Robert J; Mrs. Francis Connelly; Mrs. Joseph Nicholela; Mrs. Frank<br />

Heming and Miss Madge <strong>Gunn</strong>; all of Schenectady, NY. Borther of Paul H. Of Watervilet<br />

and Arnold <strong>Gunn</strong> of Troy. Also survived by several grandchildren. Funeral from the Doran<br />

Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 10 am thence to St. Peter’s church where at 10:30 a<br />

requiem High Mass will be sung. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, Troy, <strong>New</strong> York.<br />

GUNN - Died Sept. 16, 1966, Capt. William A. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Sr., retired, Richmond Fire<br />

Department, of 2109 Edwards Ave. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Burgess <strong>Gunn</strong>; one<br />

daughter, Mrs. Lois Ayscue; four sons, W. A., Jr., J. L., E. R., and J. G. <strong>Gunn</strong>; one brother,<br />

Harry L. <strong>Gunn</strong>; four sisters, Mrs. Effie Hood, Mrs. Anna Tucker, Mrs. Nona Townsend of<br />

Rawlings, Va.; Mrs. Lottie Ballis of Kingsport, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren.<br />

Remains rest at the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home, Third and Marshall,<br />

where services will be held Monday, 2 p.m.Interment Maury, Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a member of<br />

William Adams <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

83 years of age, noted civil engineer, mathematician and astronomer died at his home 233<br />

South Mill Street, Lexington, yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock. His death was due to infirmites<br />

incident to his great age. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong>’s funeral will probably be held Wednesday although the<br />

hour has not yet been fixed. Born near Shelbyville, November 9, 1829, the son of rev. William<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> a methodist preacher, Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was educated at Shelby College, which was at the time<br />

a flourishing institution. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> married April 24, 1855 , Miss Mary D. O’Neil of Kinston,<br />

<strong>New</strong> York who died in 1910. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was the father of nine children, eight of whom survive<br />

him. These are: Miss Fannie A. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Lexington; Mrs. Jennie G. Lane of Maysville; Mrs.<br />

Mary G. Webb of Lexington; William E. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Middlesboro; Robert Tevis <strong>Gunn</strong> of<br />

Norfolk, Virginia; Julia W. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Lexington; Thomas <strong>Gunn</strong> and Mrs. Brooke G. Hifner,<br />

both of this city; Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> is also survived by eleven grandchilren and three great<br />

grandchildren. Three borhters a a sister also survive; James W. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Springfield, Ohio;<br />

Thomas M. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Portland Oregon; John T. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Lexington; and Mrs. Brooke Cains of<br />

Troy Ohio. The passing of William Adamas <strong>Gunn</strong> will cause regret to hundred who knew him<br />

intimately for years and to thousands who only knew him by sight, but respected him for his<br />

high qualities of head and heart. His death closes a chapter in the history of Lexington,<br />

Keysville, Ga - William Albert <strong>Gunn</strong> 65, of Keysville died today November 10, 1952 at 4 am<br />

after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 pm at Keysville Baptist
