Cynthia Marie Darden <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

July 21, 1901 - Mrs. Maria <strong>Gunn</strong> of West Point Georgia died at the home of her grandson,<br />

J. L. Barrow, this morning. She had been gradually failing for the past year. She was<br />

ninety-eight years of age and up to the time of her death there were five generations in the<br />

family. Her mains were interred in the Providence church burying grounds at 4 o’clock this<br />

Mrs. Cynthia <strong>Gunn</strong> born June 26, 1804 and died July 18, 1901 aged 97 years 22 days. She<br />

united with the Baptist Church in July 1845 and lived a consistent and devoted member<br />

until her death. Buried Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Chambers County, Alabama.<br />

Services for Cynthia Renee Blackburn, 45, of Portland, Tennessee are 3:30 p.m., Monday,<br />

(today), May 3, 2004 at Portland Funeral Chapel with Brother Roy Shockley officiating.<br />

Burial is in Old Greenbrier Cemetery in Greenbrier. Visitation is today from noon to 3:30<br />

p.m. Ms. Blackburn died Saturday, May 1, at her home. A native of Ridgetop, she was born<br />

September 23, 1958, the daughter of the Walter A. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr. of Crossville and the late<br />

Wanda L. (Alley) <strong>Gunn</strong>. Survivors include her father, Walter A. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr., a daughter,<br />

Brandy Danielle Blackburn of Portland; a son, Brandon Daniel Blackburn of Cottontown;<br />

sisters, Amy O"Neal of Lafayette and Mary Strope of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Walter<br />

(Andy) <strong>Gunn</strong>, III of Pensacola, Fla. and a step-mother, Phyllis <strong>Gunn</strong> of Crossville and a<br />

grandson, Dustin Michael Taylor. Portland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the<br />

arrangements.<br />

Cynthia Renee BLACKBURN, 45, of Portland, Tennessee died on Sat., May 1, 2004 at her<br />

residence. A native of Ridgetop, she was born on Sept. 23, 1958 to the late Wanda (Alley)<br />

and Walter <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. She is survived by one daughter, one son, father, two sisters, one<br />

brother, and one grandson. Funeral services were held on Mon., May 3, 2004 at Portland<br />

Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Old Greenbrier Cemetery in Greenbrier. (Thomas and<br />

Cyrus <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Died at his residence in Eden, Illinois, on last Monday, Cyrus <strong>Gunn</strong>, aged 65 years. He<br />

resided in the vicinity of Cedar Point and was sick only about a week. He passed away<br />

Services for Cyrus L. <strong>Gunn</strong>, 92, Indianapolis, a former educator, will be at 3 p.m. March<br />

11 in Neal & Summers Mortuary, Martinsville, with calling from 1 p.m. Burial will be in<br />

Nebo Memorial Park, Martinsville. He died March 8. 1999. A former professor of political<br />

science at the University of Evansville, Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was the superintendent for Martinsville
