Karen Reed and Patricia Gunn, all of Memphis; five stepsons, Myron Gunn of Baltimore,
and Steven Gunn, Micheal Gunn, Terry Gunn and Dedrick Gunn, all of Memphis; a sister,
Barbara Hursey, and two brothers, Eddie B. Holmes and Jimmy L. Holmes, all of
Memphis, 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

GUNN, JOHNNIE J., age 73, of Birmingham, passed away on Monday, August 25. Funeral
Services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, Brighton on Saturday, August 30 at
12:00 Noon with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. W.J. Sankey officiating. Chambers

Johnnie Harrison Gunn
GLEN RAVEN, NC—Johnnie Harrison Gunn, 72. died at his home here last night at 8:15
o'clock. 11 pm. He had been in declining health for two years and critically ill for days. A
native of Alamance County, NC, he was the sun of the late Mr and Mrs. Jesse Gunn and
was formerly employed by The City of Burlington, NC. Survivors Include his wife, Mrs
Emma Gunn, and one daughter Mrs. Elsie Mac G. Walker, of the home; one son, Samuel
Gunn Glen Raven; one brother, James Gunn of Glen Haven- and four grandchildren. The
funeral will be held at First Baptist Church of Glen Raven, on Thursday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock. Interment will be In New Hope Cemetery. The Rev Capps will officiate. The body

Johnnie Oliver Gunn, Jr.
YANCEYVILLE, NC — Johnnie Oliver Gunn, Jr., died July 7, 2010, at his home in Plam
City, Florida. He is the son of the late Johnnie Oliver Gunn, Sr. and Annie Newman Gunn
of Yanceyville. Services will be held at the Yanceyville United Methodist Church on July
29, at 10:30 a.m. Private interment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family requests no
flowers. Donations may be made to the Yanceyville United Church Cemetery Fund or the
charity of your choice. Support is provided by Marley Funeral Home.
YANCEYVILLE - Funeral for John O. Gunn, 99, of Yanceyville, who died Tuesday, will
be at 3 p.m. today at Yanceyville United Methodist Church, of which he was a member.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Pelham, he was a farmer and a retired
automobile dealer. He spent four terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives. He
was a former chairman of the Caswell County Democratic Executive Committee, former
treasurer of Caswell County, a charter member of the North Carolina Automobile Dealer's
Association and of the Yanceyville Rotary Club. He was a former secretary of the Caswell
Development Co., director and secretary of Royal Hosiery Mills, former vice president and
member of the executive committee of the Bank of Yanceyville, a member of Caswell
Brotherhood Lodge 11 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the Oasis
Temple Shrine, and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a
member of Order of the Eastern Star 239, of the Junior Order of United American
Mechanics, and was a national and regional representative for the Boy Scouts. Surviving
are wife, Annie Newman Gunn; daughter, Ann Gunn Everitt of Yanceyville; son, John
