Karen Reed and Patricia <strong>Gunn</strong>, all of Memphis; five stepsons, <strong>My</strong>ron <strong>Gunn</strong> of Baltimore,<br />

and Steven <strong>Gunn</strong>, Micheal <strong>Gunn</strong>, Terry <strong>Gunn</strong> and Dedrick <strong>Gunn</strong>, all of Memphis; a sister,<br />

Barbara Hursey, and two brothers, Eddie B. Holmes and Jimmy L. Holmes, all of<br />

Memphis, 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.<br />

GUNN, JOHNNIE J., age 73, of Birmingham, passed away on Monday, August 25. Funeral<br />

Services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, Brighton on Saturday, August 30 at<br />

12:00 Noon with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. W.J. Sankey officiating. Chambers<br />

Johnnie Harrison <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

GLEN RAVEN, NC—Johnnie Harrison <strong>Gunn</strong>, 72. died at his home here last night at 8:15<br />

o'clock. 11 pm. He had been in declining health for two years and critically ill for days. A<br />

native of Alamance County, NC, he was the sun of the late Mr and Mrs. Jesse <strong>Gunn</strong> and<br />

was formerly employed by The City of Burlington, NC. Survivors Include his wife, Mrs<br />

Emma <strong>Gunn</strong>, and one daughter Mrs. Elsie Mac G. Walker, of the home; one son, Samuel<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> Glen Raven; one brother, James <strong>Gunn</strong> of Glen Haven- and four grandchildren. The<br />

funeral will be held at First Baptist Church of Glen Raven, on Thursday afternoon at 2:30<br />

o'clock. Interment will be In <strong>New</strong> Hope Cemetery. The Rev Capps will officiate. The body<br />

Johnnie Oliver <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr.<br />

YANCEYVILLE, NC — Johnnie Oliver <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr., died July 7, 2010, at his home in Plam<br />

City, Florida. He is the son of the late Johnnie Oliver <strong>Gunn</strong>, Sr. and Annie <strong>New</strong>man <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

of Yanceyville. Services will be held at the Yanceyville United Methodist Church on July<br />

29, at 10:30 a.m. Private interment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family requests no<br />

flowers. Donations may be made to the Yanceyville United Church Cemetery Fund or the<br />

charity of your choice. Support is provided by Marley Funeral Home.<br />

YANCEYVILLE - Funeral for John O. <strong>Gunn</strong>, 99, of Yanceyville, who died Tuesday, will<br />

be at 3 p.m. today at Yanceyville United Methodist Church, of which he was a member.<br />

Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Pelham, he was a farmer and a retired<br />

automobile dealer. He spent four terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives. He<br />

was a former chairman of the Caswell County Democratic Executive Committee, former<br />

treasurer of Caswell County, a charter member of the North Carolina Automobile Dealer's<br />

Association and of the Yanceyville Rotary Club. He was a former secretary of the Caswell<br />

Development Co., director and secretary of Royal Hosiery Mills, former vice president and<br />

member of the executive committee of the Bank of Yanceyville, a member of Caswell<br />

Brotherhood Lodge 11 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the Oasis<br />

Temple Shrine, and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a<br />

member of Order of the Eastern Star 239, of the Junior Order of United American<br />

Mechanics, and was a national and regional representative for the Boy Scouts. Surviving<br />

are wife, Annie <strong>New</strong>man <strong>Gunn</strong>; daughter, Ann <strong>Gunn</strong> Everitt of Yanceyville; son, John<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. of Sebring, Fla.; two grandsons. Hooper Funeral Home is in charge of
