Hattie A. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Died Sunday Afternoon September 27 at her residence, No 2414 Washington Avenue, Mrs.<br />

Hattie A. <strong>Gunn</strong>. Funeral services will occur at First Baptist Church this Monday afternoon<br />

at 2:30 o’clock. Friends are invited. Interment Rose Hill cemetery. Macon Telegraph<br />

published 9-28-1903.<br />

Hattie Florence <strong>Gunn</strong>.<br />

wife of John H. <strong>Gunn</strong>, former sheriff of Caswell county, died suddenly at her home April 9,<br />

1933 at Yanceyville Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock. She was 43 years of age. For eight<br />

years while her husand was sheriff of the county. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was in charge of the routine<br />

of the office, and thus became acquainted with most of the residents of Caswell county. She<br />

was particularly esteemed by people of Yanceyvllle and the immediate vicinity. For 23<br />

years Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a member of the Methodist church and was at the time of her death,<br />

actively identified with the work of the church at Yanceyville and the work of the Womens<br />

Missionary Society. Funeral services were conducted at Prospect Methodist church near<br />

Yanceyville at three o'clock yesterday afternoon by Rev. I. T. Poole. pastor. Interment took<br />

place at Prospect. Besides her husband, Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by four children: William<br />

LeRoy, Henry Wesley, Annie Elizabeth and Elvln Malloy <strong>Gunn</strong>, all of Yanceyville. She also<br />

leaves her mother Mrs. Lucy Rudd Smith, of Pelham and four brothers: Felix S. Smith,<br />

Burlington: John Frank Smith. Ruffin Route 1; Onza G., and G. Robert Smith of Pelham.<br />

Harley W. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Oct. 23, 1924-March 26, 2001 -Harley W. <strong>Gunn</strong>, 76, of La Mesa, California died March 26.<br />

He was born in Pasadena. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a bar manager. Survivors include his daughter,<br />

Subhadra Colston; stepdaughters Debbie McDonald, Joni Lance and Cindy Vargas; and<br />

brothers William <strong>Gunn</strong> and Arnold <strong>Gunn</strong>. Services are pending. Arrangements: El Cajon<br />

Harriet A. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

80 wife of Franklin L. <strong>Gunn</strong>, died Wednesday night, in the home of her daughter Mrs.<br />

Preston A. Noble. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was born in <strong>New</strong> Haven Conn in 1840 the daughter of Henry<br />

and Mary Fowler Augur. She married Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> in 1860. Besides her husband and her<br />

daughter,she leave two grandchildren, Elwood G. And Walter Pl Noble of this city,<br />

Springfield, Illinois, and two great grandchildren. Burial in Springeild Cemetery.<br />
