Frankie D. "Sugar" Gunn,
73, of Waco, Texas, died July 25, 2008, in Temple, Texas. A memorial service will be
Wednesday at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco, TX 76708.
She was born July 8, 1935, in Waco to Homer and Gladys (Bagwell) Durham. She was a
court reporter for many years. In 1994, she began spending the summers living in
Anchorage and Kenai, and enjoying her family and friends. Survivors include her
daughter Penne Schulz and her husband, Jeff, and their children, Justin and Samantha, all

Frank W. Gunn
receiving teller at the Phoenix National Bank died at 10 o’clock last night 6-7-1904, at his
residence near the city limits on the Georgetown Pike after an illness of only 3 days.. He
was the son of Mr. John T. Gunn of Lexington, Kentucky and was one of the best known
young men about town. Mr. Gunn leaves a wife and two children. Notice of funeral will be

Fannie Mae Gunn
WEST POINT -- Mrs. Fannie Mae Gunn, 82, of West Point died Monday, July 5, 2004 at
George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
July 10 at 2 p.m. EDT at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Revs. W.T. Edmondson and
Walter L. Dardenofficiating. Burial will follow at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point. She is
survived by her devoted daughter, Jewel A. Gunn of West Point; one loving and dedicated
granddaughter, Fannette L. Truitt of West Point; one stepson, Evangelist Horace Gunn of
Charlotte, N.C.; her aunt, Rose Tigner of Rome, Ga.; two nieces, Helen Reese and Martha
Taylor, both of West Point; one god-sister, Opehelia Black Jones of West Point; three goddaughters,
Joann Jones of West Point, Barbara (Lee) Autry and Joann (Eddie) Crimm,
both of Lanett; a dear friend, Mary T. Fannings of Lanett; a host of grandchildren and
great-grandchildren that she reared as her own; nieces, nephews, cousins and other
relatives and friends. Mrs. Gunn was a native of Troup County, Georgia and a member of
Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she served as a committed and dependable Sunday
school teacher, usher, choir member and member of the Nurse"s Guild. She was a 1942
graduate of West Point Colored High School. Mrs. Gunn was the daughter of the late Mr.
Clem Sherman and Mrs. Annie Lewis Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Jerry Gunn Jr.; and two brothers, Carlton and Nathan Long. The remains will lie in state
at the church Saturday, July 10 from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. M.W. Lee Mortuary of
West Point is in charge of arrangements.
