and a woman of virtue. The loving vibes she gave to everyone around her was her specialty,<br />

but to those who knew her affectionately as "Mahoney" and "Happy Feet," love will<br />

forever linger. A deeply spiritual woman of God, she was a lifelong member of Court Street<br />

Baptist Church with interests in all activities involving the church. Preceding her in death<br />

were her parents, Mr. William Bentley and Mrs. Janie Bentley Johnson, and her husband,<br />

Mr. George E. <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. She leaves to mourn her passing a devoted daughter, Mable G.<br />

Wilson; a loving son, George "Bubbie" <strong>Gunn</strong> III; two special friends, Mrs. Virginia Reese<br />

and Mrs. Elaine Reed; her grandchildren, Annette, Greg, George "Rudy," Felicia,<br />

Devonne, Shaun, Pamela, Malik and Chaka; great-grandchildren, DeVonne "Smitty,"<br />

Fred, Justin, Denzel, Danelle, Chyna, Asia, Essence, Miracle, Sandra, Yuniq, Benjamin and<br />

Dasia; great-great grandchildren, Javonne, Amia and Zachious; and a host of other<br />

relatives and friends. A homegoing service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31,<br />

2009, at Court Street Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Virginia, with Pastor Rodney Forrest<br />

officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Her remains will lie in state at the<br />

church one hour prior to the service. The family is receiving friends and the cortege will<br />

assemble at the home of her daughter, Mable Wilson, 103 Kettering Lane.<br />

of 1119 N. Scales St., Reidsville, NC., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Penn Nursing Center.<br />

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at McLaurin Funeral Home.<br />

Helen <strong>Gunn</strong> Fuller<br />

Helen <strong>Gunn</strong> Fuller, age 100, of Shannondale of Maryville, Tennessee, rejoiced to enter<br />

Eternity and the presence of her Lord on Friday, January 27, 2012. Her body was donated<br />

to East Tennessee Medical School in Johnson City. She was born on June 25, 1911, in<br />

Crawfordville, Ga. She was an active member of <strong>New</strong> Providence Presbyterian Church<br />

since 2005, and of Hapeville Presbyterian Church in Georgia for more than 50 years before<br />

that. Helen Fuller was a graduate of Mercer University, and served Fulton County (Ga.)<br />

Juvenile Court for 26 years prior to retirement in 1979. She was active in establishing the<br />

Atlanta International Airport Chaplaincy and was a regular volunteer there for 20 years.<br />

Her parents were Samuel Edgar <strong>Gunn</strong> and Itis Bentley <strong>Gunn</strong>; six siblings also predeceased<br />

her, as did four nieces and nephews. She is survived by two nieces and three nephews,<br />

including Clarence and Ruth Durham of Maryville. Memorial service will be held at <strong>New</strong><br />

Providence Presbyterian Church, details to be announced. Memorials may be sent to<br />

Christian Friends of Korea, P O Box 936, Black Mountain, NC 28711.<br />
