Robert Andrew Gunn, Sr. - of English, died Thursday, February 28 at Bloomington
Hospital. He was a native of Lanesville, a retired maintenance worker from Fire King
International, former employee of P.L. Lorillard, and was owner and operator of Sonny’s
Garage in Georgetown. He was a member of Taswell Christian Church and a member of
Crawford Historical Society. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Joyce (Surles)
Gunn; children, Robert Andrew Gunn, Jr., and Joyce Sue Gunn Eskridge; brothers,
Kenneth, David, and Morris Gunn; sisters, Darlene Vigil, Margaret Schicker, Marcella
Cruseturner, Pat Gaines, Rose Simmons, Donna Crawford, and Pam Gunn; and one
grandchild, Jason Eskridge. Services were held Sunday, March 2, at Denbo Funeral Home in
English, with burial in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown. Expressions of sympathy can be

Robert Andrew Gunn
died Tuesday, August 8, 2006. He was born in Houston, Texas, June 29, 1947. He was a
graduate of Athens High School, Athens, TX; discharged from the Navy in 1971; graduated
from The University of Texas in 1977; and graduated from Church Divinity School of the
Pacific, Berkeley, CA in 1983. Father Gunn served at St. Williams Catholic Church in Round
Rock, TX for three years and was the founding pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church of
Austin, TX, which celebrated its first Mass on May 7, 2000. There he served for six years
until his medical retirement. He is preceded in death by parents, Robert and Charlotte Gunn
of Austin, TX. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Jeri Gunn, of Manor, TX; his son,
Travis Gunn of Austin, TX; and one sister, Carolyn Jefferies and her husband, Charles
Jefferies of Rowlett, TX. Rosary and prayer vigil will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday,
August 10th at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1900 Gregg Lane in Pflugerville. Visitation with
the Gunn family will follow from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Burial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on
Friday, August 11, 2006 at St. Patrick Catholic Church followed by interment at Austin
Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic

Robert D. Gunn,
64, of Jackson Township, passed away suddenly at his residence, following a brief heartrelated
illness. He was born in Calhoun County, W. Va., on Feb. 26, 1933, and had been in
heavy-equipment sales in the local area for over 35 years, planning on retirement from the
Ohio Machinery Co. in February. Bob was also very active at the Church of the Lakes,
United Methodist, in the capacity of usher, trustee, and was currently serving on the
Building Committee. Preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Elizabeth M. (Gunn)
McIntyre; brother, Edward A. Gunn; half-brothers, Poe, Carl, and Clark; sister, Eleanor;
and several brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews, he is survived by his loving wife, Lila Jean
(Shingleton) Gunn; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Eric and Johnna of Jackson
