Robert Andrew <strong>Gunn</strong>, Sr. - of English, died Thursday, February 28 at Bloomington<br />

Hospital. He was a native of Lanesville, a retired maintenance worker from Fire King<br />

International, former employee of P.L. Lorillard, and was owner and operator of Sonny’s<br />

Garage in Georgetown. He was a member of Taswell Christian Church and a member of<br />

Crawford Historical Society. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Joyce (Surles)<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; children, Robert Andrew <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr., and Joyce Sue <strong>Gunn</strong> Eskridge; brothers,<br />

Kenneth, David, and Morris <strong>Gunn</strong>; sisters, Darlene Vigil, Margaret Schicker, Marcella<br />

Cruseturner, Pat Gaines, Rose Simmons, Donna Crawford, and Pam <strong>Gunn</strong>; and one<br />

grandchild, Jason Eskridge. Services were held Sunday, March 2, at Denbo Funeral Home in<br />

English, with burial in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown. Expressions of sympathy can be<br />

Robert Andrew <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

died Tuesday, August 8, 2006. He was born in Houston, Texas, June 29, 1947. He was a<br />

graduate of Athens High School, Athens, TX; discharged from the Navy in 1971; graduated<br />

from The University of Texas in 1977; and graduated from Church Divinity School of the<br />

Pacific, Berkeley, CA in 1983. Father <strong>Gunn</strong> served at St. Williams Catholic Church in Round<br />

Rock, TX for three years and was the founding pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church of<br />

Austin, TX, which celebrated its first Mass on May 7, 2000. There he served for six years<br />

until his medical retirement. He is preceded in death by parents, Robert and Charlotte <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

of Austin, TX. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Jeri <strong>Gunn</strong>, of Manor, TX; his son,<br />

Travis <strong>Gunn</strong> of Austin, TX; and one sister, Carolyn Jefferies and her husband, Charles<br />

Jefferies of Rowlett, TX. Rosary and prayer vigil will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday,<br />

August 10th at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1900 Gregg Lane in Pflugerville. Visitation with<br />

the <strong>Gunn</strong> family will follow from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Burial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on<br />

Friday, August 11, 2006 at St. Patrick Catholic Church followed by interment at Austin<br />

Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic<br />

Robert D. <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

64, of Jackson Township, passed away suddenly at his residence, following a brief heartrelated<br />

illness. He was born in Calhoun County, W. Va., on Feb. 26, 1933, and had been in<br />

heavy-equipment sales in the local area for over 35 years, planning on retirement from the<br />

Ohio Machinery Co. in February. Bob was also very active at the Church of the Lakes,<br />

United Methodist, in the capacity of usher, trustee, and was currently serving on the<br />

Building Committee. Preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Elizabeth M. (<strong>Gunn</strong>)<br />

McIntyre; brother, Edward A. <strong>Gunn</strong>; half-brothers, Poe, Carl, and Clark; sister, Eleanor;<br />

and several brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews, he is survived by his loving wife, Lila Jean<br />

(Shingleton) <strong>Gunn</strong>; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Eric and Johnna of Jackson
