Altha Inez <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

93, of Sikeston, died on October 1, 2011, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. She was born<br />

on January 14, 1918 in Heber Springs, Arkansas, to the late Dawson and Lila Mosley<br />

Gaines. She was a homemaker and had been a member of the Emmanuel Missionary<br />

Baptist Church in Sikeston. On August 17, 1938, in Sikeston, she married Buryle W. <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

who preceded her in death on October 1, 1989. She was also preceded in death by three<br />

brothers and two sisters. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and<br />

Sharon <strong>Gunn</strong> of Sikeston. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, October<br />

4, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Evans of the Bethel Baptist<br />

Church, officiating.<br />

Alvin Perry <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Alvin Perry <strong>Gunn</strong> was born March 7, 1930 in El Centro, California and was a resident of<br />

Southern California for all of his life. He passed away peacefully at home on February 21,<br />

2006 at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer. Alvin was one of five children<br />

born to Charles Ross <strong>Gunn</strong> and Nellie Laura Francis Farmer (<strong>Gunn</strong>) of Riverside, CA and<br />

is survived by his brothers, Jack Edgar <strong>Gunn</strong> of Everett, WA and Ralph William <strong>Gunn</strong> of<br />

Las Vegas, NV. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 where he attained the<br />

rank of Staff Sergeant. Alvin was employed by Kaiser Steel for 25 years and recently<br />

retired from Chilson's Management Controls in 2004. His loving wife, Patricia and<br />

children, Robert and Michelle Harris, Randall and Connie Harris, Ross and Paula <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

Anthony <strong>Gunn</strong> and Tracee Johnson, David and Amalia <strong>Gunn</strong>, Phillip <strong>Gunn</strong>, Tracey <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

and Cory Fossum survive Alvin. Their beautiful daughter, Darlene Harris preceded him in<br />

his death in 1983. He leaves behind over 20 grand children and great grandchildren, and<br />

countless cousins, nieces, nephews and other friends and family members who knew and<br />

loved him without exception. He will be remembered for his stoic nature, honesty, integrity<br />

and devotion. Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2006 at 10 a.m.,<br />

staging area #5, Riverside National Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to<br />

Inland Empire Hospice Program, 9961 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335. Cucamonga<br />

Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Published in the Inland Valley Daily<br />

Alvin <strong>Gunn</strong> (Pinnecoose)<br />

Graveside services for Alvin Pinnecoose will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 at<br />

Ouray Cemetery in Ignacio.Visitation has been set for Monday morning from 9 -11 a.m. at<br />

the Ertel Memorial Chapel.Alvin Pinnecoose was born Feb. 19, 1943 at Ignacio, Colo. the<br />

son of Graves Shosone <strong>Gunn</strong> and Virginia Pinnecoose. He was raised by his adoptive<br />

parents, Guy Pinnecoose Sr. and Esther Arrive. Alvin also claimed Shirley Reed as his<br />

adopted mom. He passed away at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, N.M.<br />

on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004. Alvin was 61 years old. An active member of the Native<br />

American Church, Alvin was looked to as a spiritual leader. He was a Sundance Chief.<br />

During the 1960s, Alvin was a Golden Gloves champion . Alvin enjoyed the outdoors and
