Lottie <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Lottie Mae <strong>Gunn</strong>, the daughter of the late George W. and Ada Stark Clark, was born in<br />

Bryant on July 9, 1924, and died at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on<br />

Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at the age of 81. Lottie had lived in the Dexter area all her life and was<br />

raised by her grandmother, the late Rhonda Caroline Stark.Lottie had attended the Dexter<br />

public schools and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter that was founded<br />

by her father-in-law, William <strong>Gunn</strong>. Lottie was a devoted wife of 59 years, a Sunday School<br />

techer who spent 58 years teaching the children. Lottie and husband Jim also sang throughout<br />

the area for community and church. On Oct. 18, 1946, she was married to James <strong>Gunn</strong> in<br />

Piggott, Ark. Surviving are her husband, James <strong>Gunn</strong> of Dexter; two daughters and one sonin-law,<br />

Carolyn Bradford of Tomball, Texas, and Susan and James Hughes of Jackson; five<br />

grandchildren, Dan and Annie Hook of Montgomery, Sherri and Jay Migi-Barton of Tomball,<br />

Texas, Sam Hook of Woodlands, Texas, Chris and Becca Hook of Vancleave, Miss., Brad<br />

Hughes of Jackson; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew, Joey, Christopher, Kelcey, Justin and<br />

Kendall Hook, Trey and Ty Migi, and Breanna Hughes. She was preceded in death by one<br />

granddaughter, Rebekah Hughes in January 2003. Visitaiton will be held from 5-8 p.m.<br />

Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will<br />

be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter<br />

with the Rev. Robert Bentley of Dexter, the Rev. Ronnie Brown of Jackson, and the Rev.<br />

Dennis Breland of Charleston officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery<br />

near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.<br />

Lottie <strong>Gunn</strong> Abeita<br />

passed away April 23, 2001 at her home in Isleta Pueblo, <strong>New</strong> Mexico. She was born to<br />

Kenneth CC <strong>Gunn</strong> and Meta Atsye <strong>Gunn</strong> in Laguna Pueblo on February 3, 1906. She was the<br />

last surviving member of the pioneer <strong>Gunn</strong> Family. Preceded in death by sisters, Jessie, Aggie,<br />

Florence and brothers, John, Bruce and Wally. She was also preceded in death by her husband<br />

of 59 years, Diego Abeita. She was a retired rancher, an avid gardener, a wonderful cook and<br />

a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by many friends and relatives along with<br />

her daughters, Louise A. Chewiwi and her husband, Steven; son, Richard Abeita and wife,<br />

Cheryl of Hawaii; four granddaughters, Linda and husband, Todd Jiron, Susan Chewiwi,<br />

Jessica and Becky Abeita; and her loving friend, Leona Lente. May she rest in peace with her<br />

many friends, relatives and pets. Services will be Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the<br />

Fern Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal SE. Interment will follow in the Fairview<br />

Cemetery.<br />

Lottie <strong>Gunn</strong> Fleshood<br />

FLESHOOD - Died Wednesday, December 21, 1977, Mrs. Lottie <strong>Gunn</strong> Fleshood, 88, widow<br />

of Greyson L. Fleshood. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ruth F. Baldwin of Betheseda,<br />

Maryland; two sons, Mr. Hunter B. Fleshood, Mr. Greyson L. Fleshood, Jr., both of<br />

Richmond; also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. After 4 p.m. Monday<br />

remains will rest at the Frank A. Bliley Funeral Home, 217 W. Grace street, where services will<br />

be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Richmond Times Dispatch (VA)
