disease. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts Jon was the son of the late Edwin P. and Marion<br />

Bragdon <strong>Gunn</strong> of Scituate, Massachusetts. He graduated as salutatorian of Scituate High<br />

School where he played ice hockey and was on the golf and tennis teams. He also played<br />

hockey at Harvard College where he graduated with a B.S. in 1966. He earned his Masters<br />

in Business Administration from Columbia University in 1968. An avid sportsman all his<br />

life, he played in amateur ice hockey leagues, enjoyed golf and loved horseback riding with<br />

his wife, Gloria. Jon was a prolific reader, a lifelong student of history and a loyal fan of<br />

the Miami Hurricanes, The Boston Red Sox and Harvard Hockey, as well as the opera and<br />

the ballet. For the past six years, he enjoyed his new role as grandfather. He moved to<br />

Miami in 1976 and was currently employed as tax manager of Terremark Worldwide, Inc.<br />

He also had been a senior tax manager at Price Waterhouse in Miami and served as the<br />

CFO of Contender Boats in Homestead. Jon volunteered for Horses for Handicapped<br />

sponsored by the Kiwanis Club and the Miami-Dade Public Library System. Jon is<br />

survived by his wife, Gloria M. Batule, two daughters, Alison (Douglas) O"Keefe of<br />

Coconut Grove, and Betsy <strong>Gunn</strong> of Palmetto Bay, sisters Beth (Hugo) Sonnenschein of<br />

Chicago, and Jean (Alan) Lokensgard of Arlington, Massachusetts and his three<br />

grandchildren, Sawyer, Liam, and Mac O"Keefe. He also leaves behind his beloved horse,<br />

McKenzie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Harvard Hockey,<br />

Murr Center, 65 North Harvard Street, Boston, MA 02163. A memorial service will be held<br />

Monday, December 10 at 5:00 p.m. at the Biscayne Bay Yacht Club, 2540 S. Bayshore<br />

Johnson <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Johnson <strong>Gunn</strong>, 67, of Tulsa died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000. He was a graduate of the<br />

University of Arkansas where he letter in basketball and football, Marine Corps veteran<br />

and retired investor and produce broker. He developed Liberty Towers, founded Liberty<br />

Investors Life Insurance Co. and was on the board of directors of several companies.<br />

Survivors include his wife, Sonya; one son, Jay <strong>Gunn</strong>; one daughter, Lisa Chapman;<br />

mother, Eddie <strong>Gunn</strong>; two sisters, Jane Barrett and Judy Maness; and five granddaughters,<br />

Taylor, Paige and Samantha <strong>Gunn</strong> and Abbey and Ally Chapman. Funeral service was<br />

held Dec. 18 at Southern Bills Baptist Church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at<br />

Hollaway Cemetery in Spicewood, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of<br />

Moore"s Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa. Memorial contributions may be made to the<br />

American Lung Association.<br />

Jon Albert <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

38, of Memphis, Tn., passed away at his home on November 24, 2009. He was a member of<br />

Bellevue Baptist church and was a former employee of Huey’s Restaurants. He is preceded<br />

in death by his father, Albert Ames <strong>Gunn</strong> and is survived by his mother, Frances Jones<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; a brother, Jeffrey <strong>Gunn</strong>; and a host of loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be<br />

from 57 p.m. Friday evening at High Point Funeral Chapel and funeral services will be at<br />

10 am Saturday at High Point Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.<br />
