Leonard Darrel <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

79, a resident of San Bernardino for 47 years, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006. He<br />

was one of six children born in Lindsay, CA., raised in Visalia, CA., moved to San<br />

Bernardino in 1959. He was an Official Court Reporter for the Superior Court for 40 years<br />

and a member of Arrowhead Country Club. His wife of 30 years, Luella, preceded him in<br />

death in 1977. His survivors include: two brothers, Leroy of Visalia and Donald of<br />

Sacramento; three sons, Darrell of San Bernardino, Mark of Riverside and Andrew of Oak<br />

Hills; 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Crawford and Kelly; 7 extended grandchildren; 3<br />

great-grandchildren; 5 extended great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 31,<br />

4-7pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 1 at 10am, both at Bobbitt Memorial<br />

Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.<br />

Leonard F. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

56, worked for the Army Department for more than 35 years before retiring in June 1983.<br />

Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a native of Washington, D. C, and a 1944 graduate of Dunbar High School<br />

Leonard Higgins <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

son of the late Rev. and Mrs. John R. <strong>Gunn</strong>, died Monday, January 8, 2007 at the age of 96.<br />

Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was the founder of the L. H. <strong>Gunn</strong> Co., which he ran for 35 years. He was loved<br />

and respected by all his employees and customers. Upon retiring in 1986, he found much<br />

pleasure and many friends in his hobby, tennis, which he played into his eighties. Mr.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> was a devoted and adored husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather,<br />

always eagerly participating in various family activities. He and his wife, Martha,<br />

celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in March of last year. Besides his wife, Martha<br />

England <strong>Gunn</strong>, Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Carolyn<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; a daughter and son-in-law, Dean and David Pauls; four grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren<br />

and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at A. S. Turner &<br />

Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 11:00 AM, Rev. Larry Burgess<br />

officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers,<br />

those preferring may send donations in his memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma<br />
