97, Olathe, Kan., formerly of Grain Valley, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at his sons home
in Olathe. Mr. Gunn was born Aug. 21, 1903, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Andrew J. and
Barbara Graff Gunn. He married Helen L. Henel on Oct. 22, 1938. He was an architect for
Byers and Gunn Architects until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Helen Gunn, on June 27, 1999, and a sister in December 1999. His survivors include two
sons, William Gunn, Kansas City, and Robert Gunn, Olathe; a daughter, Deborah
Poindexter, Prairie Village, Kan.; a sister, Virginia Schultz, St. Joseph, Mo.; four
grandchildren, Lara Poindexter, Jared Poindexter, Aron Gunn and Barbara Gunn; and
three nieces and two nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Royer Funeral
Home, Grain Valley. Burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley. Visitation is from
10 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel.

Colonial Heights, Va. - Claude Wilton Gunn, 78, died Wednesday 7-26-1979 in a
Petersburg Hospital. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at 3. E. L. Small Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery.He was a native of Rockingham County, N.C. He
was the son of the late Jones Gunn and Eva Moore Gunn. Survivors are wife, Mrs. Bessie
Sutphin Gunn; daughters, Miss Carolyn Gunn of the home, Mrs. Bettie Phillips of Norfolk,
Mrs. Diane Baker of Colonial Heights; sons, Wade Gunn of Falls Church, Kenneth Gunn
of Rt. 1, Madison, Harold Gunn of El Paso, Texas, Leonard, John, Mac, Lewis and Jimmy
Gunn of Colonial Heights; brothers, Arnie M. and R. Early Gunn of Reidsville. The family
will be at the funeral home 7-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-5 p.m. Sunday.(Thomas and Susannah

Chapel Baptist Church in Brooklyn, Miss. LUMBERTON --- Mr. Claude Winston Gunn,
80, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, in Collins. Mr. Gunn was a retired businessman and an
Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Grace Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Jean Bounds Gunn of Lumberton; two sons, Samuel
Gunn of Wetumpka, Ala., and Anthony Lee Gunn of Palm Dale, Calif.; three daughters,
Sherry Elaine Gunn Holley of Wetumpka, Sandra Louise Gunn Griffin of Smyrna, Ga.,
and Ava Paulene Gunn of Senatobia; two sisters, Betty Lucille Gunn Marinez of Metairie,
La., and Nell Gunn of Kenner, La.; two brothers, Robert McKinleyn Gunn of Pass
Christian, and Curtis Dwight Gunn of Long Beach; nine grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at White Funeral Home in
Lumberton. A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Chapel Baptist Church in
Brooklyn, Miss., where friends may call one hour before service time. A graveside service
