Edward <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Decatur Indiana - February 10, 1899 - Edward <strong>Gunn</strong>, alias Dixon, who mysterious death<br />

occurred at the Indiana House in this city, about two weeks ago has finally been identified.<br />

A number of years ago <strong>Gunn</strong> was a prominent citizen and politician of Lima Ohio and was<br />

elected city treasurer. He suddenly disappeared taking with him several thousand dollars<br />

of the city’s money. Officer all over the country were looking for him, but he succeeded in<br />

avoiding them, and was never heard of. After leaving Lima <strong>Gunn</strong> went to California where<br />

he resided for years. He came here two weeks prior to his death and registered as Edward<br />

Dixon, claiming to be a blacksmith but he looked anything else. It is believed he was<br />

wandering back to his old home to die. Lima officers identified him as their absconding<br />

treasurer of years ago.<br />

J. Edward <strong>Gunn</strong> - A funeral for J. Edward <strong>Gunn</strong> 3006 Abelia Drive who died Monday<br />

December 25, 1978 in a Richmond County, Georgia hospial will be held at 2 pm today at<br />

Crestview Baptist Church with the Rev. Cletus Lynch officiating. Burial in West View<br />

Cemetery. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a native of Colquitt County, but lived in Augusta 45 years. He<br />

was retired from Seminole Mills and attended Crestview Baptist Church. Survivors<br />

include his wife, Mrs. Mary Pitts <strong>Gunn</strong>; son son Lee E. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Martinez; two daughter<br />

Betty Faye Blackburn, Martinez, Mrs. Virginia Hefferman, Augusta; three brothes, John<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> Mascot Fla, Dub <strong>Gunn</strong>, Groveland, Fla. R. L. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Moultrie, Georgia, and two<br />

sisters, Nellie Martin, and Eddie White.<br />

Edward F. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

of Lakewood worked in many braches of government service and since 1976 was the chief<br />

deputy of the civil branch of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> age<br />

62, had been ill with heart disease since last Tuesday and died Sunday at lakewood<br />

Hospital. He had a heart attack in 1970. .....Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth R; daughters<br />

Kathleen Guscott, Mary, Loretta Huber of Columbus, and Carolyn; son Kevin, mother<br />

Anna; four grandchildren; a sister and two brothers; Services will be at 9:30 Thursday at<br />

St. James Catholic Church, Detroit and Granger Avenue, Lakewood. Tuesday, October<br />

Edward J. <strong>Gunn</strong> III<br />

Oct. 22, 1990 --June 17, 1996 -Edward James <strong>Gunn</strong> III, 5, of Modesto died Monday at UC<br />

Medical Center, San Francisco. Edward was a native of San Francisco. He lived in Modesto<br />

five years. He is survived by his parents, Zanetta Ann Carter and Edward James <strong>Gunn</strong> II,<br />

both of Modesto, brothers Ronald Aydre Carter and Ter-Rone Carter, both of Modesto; a<br />

half-sister, LaRhonda Roberts of Gary, Ind.; and grandparents, Helen and Edward <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

and Cleave Carter, all of Gary, Ind., and Sonja Carter of San Francisco. A graveside<br />

service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.<br />

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson.<br />

Remembrances may be made to Zanetta A. Carter in trust for Edward <strong>Gunn</strong> III, c / o Bank
