begin at noon EST Friday, March 4, at First Christian Church, 301 N. Mill St.,<br />

Veedersburg, with Pastor Garland Pannell officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.<br />

Friday at the church and continue until noon. Interment at Bonebrake Cemetery,<br />

Veedersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church.<br />

Della <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

ABERDEEN - Della Earnestine "Baby Ruth" Sykes <strong>Gunn</strong>, 82, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010,<br />

at her home in Aberdeen. She was born March 13, 1928, to Abel Sykes Jr. and Lena Vasser<br />

Sykes. She was a homemaker and a member of <strong>New</strong> Hebron M.B. Church. Services were<br />

at 2 p.m. Oct. 30 at <strong>New</strong> Hebron M.B. Church with the Rev. Sam Crawford officiating.<br />

Burial was in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial Funeral Home of Okolona was in<br />

charge of the arrangements. Survivors include six daughters, Christine Orr of Prairie,<br />

Elaine <strong>Gunn</strong> of Aberdeen, Norma Clay of Aberdeen, Jeanette Swindall of Aberdeen, Ovie<br />

Williams (Bennie) of Calumet City, Ill., and Lamonica Calvert (Johnnie) of Okolona; one<br />

son, Darrell <strong>Gunn</strong> (Priscilla) of Aberdeen; two sisters, Lartha Ree (Mark) Collins of St.<br />

Louis and Aggie Kyles of Elgin, Ill.; 31 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and two<br />

great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Will <strong>Gunn</strong>, and<br />

three sons, Curtis Kent, Willie Walker and Stacy <strong>Gunn</strong>.<br />

Delma <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Delma <strong>Gunn</strong> Lancaster of <strong>New</strong> Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at<br />

Eden Home at the age of 97 years. Delma was born on March 22, 1905, in Waelder, Texas,<br />

to David James <strong>Gunn</strong> and Mary Miranda (Walker) <strong>Gunn</strong>. She married James Lancaster<br />

on Nov. 17, 1923 in San Marcos, Texas. Mrs. Lancaster was a member of the Order Of The<br />

Eastern Star. Delma was a teacher for some 12 years, having taught 4th and 5th grade. She<br />

also worked as a secretary at Refugio High School. Mrs. Lancaster was also a member of<br />

Canyon Lake United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James<br />

Lancaster on Nov. 14, 1980. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Kirkpatrick of <strong>New</strong><br />

Braunfels, Texas, and Jimmie Mobley of Canyon Lake, Texas; brother, Guy <strong>Gunn</strong> and<br />

wife Emily of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Alan, Karen and Scott Kirkpatrick and<br />

Aimee Mobley Turney and George Mobley Jr. and great grandchildren, Calvin and<br />

Chance Kirkpatrick and Blane, Braxton and Bryce Kirkpatrick. A memorial service will<br />

be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church<br />

with the Rev. Jim Roberts officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the<br />
