W. A. T. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Mr. W. A. T. <strong>Gunn</strong> an old and respected citizen of the 8th District of Robertson County,<br />

Tennessee died at his residence last Thursday, June 28, 1883 at the age of 60 years. He was a<br />

consistent member of the Cedar Hill Methodist Church, beloved by its members, as well as<br />

Wallace <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Wallace"Wally" <strong>Gunn</strong> of <strong>New</strong> Laguna, passed away in Grants, NM early Tuesday morning.<br />

He was 90. Wallace was born in <strong>New</strong> Laguna on June 11, 1908 to Kenneth C.C. <strong>Gunn</strong> and<br />

Meta Atsye <strong>Gunn</strong>. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, ; one son, Robert<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; two brothers, Bruce <strong>Gunn</strong> and John R. <strong>Gunn</strong>; three sisters, Agnes Gottlieb, Jessie<br />

Humphries, and Florence <strong>Gunn</strong>. Wallace is survived by one son, Donald <strong>Gunn</strong> and his wife,<br />

Barbara of Grants; one sister, Lottie Abeita of Isleta; four grandchildren, Jeffrey <strong>Gunn</strong> of<br />

Albuquerque, David <strong>Gunn</strong> of <strong>New</strong> Laguna, Christina <strong>Gunn</strong> of Grants, and Yvonne<br />

Benschop of California; five great-grandchildren, Elaine, Elizabeth and Andrew <strong>Gunn</strong> of<br />

Laguna and Kevin and Amanda Benschop of California; and a sister-in-law, Bennie Milan of<br />

Milan, NM; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in <strong>New</strong> Mexico, California, Texas,<br />

Georgia, Idaho, Colorado, and Oregon. Wallace was a native of this area and lived most of<br />

his life in the area. He and his wife, Mary operated the Villa de Cubero from 1937-1972. He<br />

was active as a member of Lebanon Masonic Lodge in Gallup since 1946, in addition a<br />

member of the Scottish Rite Santa Fe Lodge of Perfection, and Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple,<br />

as well as being a former member of the Lion"s Club. He served as a member of The County<br />

School Board for many years, and was instrumental in obtaining funds needed for the<br />

building and development of Laguna High School through his lobbying efforts in<br />

Washington, DC. He was also a pioneer aviator in the early years of aviation. Visitation will<br />

be held Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Grants Mortuary Chapel. Christian and<br />

Masonic Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Grants Mortuary Chapel with<br />

Fr. Emeric Nordmeyer O.F.M. officiating. Graveside services will follow at Fairview<br />

Memorial Park in Albuquerque and are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, David <strong>Gunn</strong>, Paul Milan, Jake Abraham, Hans Gottlieb, and Ricky Abeita. Honorary<br />

pallbearers include Joseph Fidel, Frank Holmberg, Lawrence Peterson, Gerald Friedman,<br />

Joe Cronk and Frank Canfield. The <strong>Gunn</strong> Family requests, that in lieu of flowers, donations<br />

be made to Shriners Children"s Hospital, 3160 Geneva Street, Los Angeles, CA 90020 or 911<br />

West Fifth Avenue, Spokan, WA, or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of NM, First Security<br />

Bank Building, Ste. #203, 5301 Central Avenue, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Grants Mortuary<br />

is in charge of arrangements.<br />

Wallace H. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Wallace H. (Wally) <strong>Gunn</strong>, Sr. passed away on the morning of March 3, 2001 of complications<br />

due to cancer. He was born June 20, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold <strong>Gunn</strong> and<br />

Emily Manola Lee. He grew up in southern Cali-fornia, and married Donna Homer on<br />

September 1, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised their four children in<br />

California: Harold W. (Gail) <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr. of South Jordan; Michal Ann (Richard) Bartlett of<br />

St. George; Spencer H. (Chris) <strong>Gunn</strong> of Santa Clara; and Melinda (Tom) Bandley of Orem.<br />

Donna preceded him in death on January 19, 1993. Their posterity includes 20
