Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by her husband, U.S. Army Ret. Brig. Gen. Frank L. <strong>Gunn</strong> of<br />

Hampton; her daughter, Kathryn <strong>Gunn</strong> Ponzar, and her husband, Ronald E. Ponzar, of<br />

Hampton; her son, Lt. Col. Frank Leroy <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr., and his wife, Susan Tyrrell <strong>Gunn</strong>, of<br />

Hopewell; her sister, Louise Yates Wingate, and her husband, R.K. Wingate Jr., of<br />

Camilla, Ga.; her brother, John S. Yates, and his wife, Betty Lane Yates, of Dahlonega,<br />

Ga.; and her grandchildren, Brian L. Ponzar, Sandra Lee <strong>Gunn</strong>, and Samuel E. Ponzar.<br />

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral<br />

Home in Hampton. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel<br />

of the Centurion by the Rev. Arthur F. Jenson. Interment will be private in Arlington<br />

National Cemetery at a later date. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, expressions<br />

of sympathy take the form of contributions to either Riverside Hospice Program;<br />

Riverside Medical Center, 500 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., <strong>New</strong>port <strong>New</strong>s, 23601; or to a<br />

charity of your choice.<br />

Dorothy <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

of Pearl River, NY, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at her home. She was 79. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

worked as a teacher's assistant for the Pearl River School District for over 20 years before<br />

retiring in 2009. Dorothy was born February 20, 1932 in Manhattan, NY to John Barrett<br />

and Margaret Keane. On September 8, 1951 she married Hugh M. <strong>Gunn</strong> at Holy Name<br />

R.C. Church in Manhattan. Dorothy lived in Pearl River for the past 46 years, before that<br />

she lived in Yonkers, NY. She is survived by her husband, Hugh, son, William and wife<br />

Janet, daughter, Doreen Cokeley and husband Thomas, son, Brian and wife Jean, and<br />

daughter, Susan Romaine and husband Charles. Dorothy also has 6 grandchildren,<br />

Timothy, Kara, Deirdre, Bridget, Brendan and William. She is predeceased by her parents<br />

and grandson Sean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 10:00 AM at St.<br />

Catherine's R.C. Church, Blauvelt, NY. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery,<br />

Nanuet, NY. Visiting is Thursday from 3 to 5 an 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral<br />

Dorothy <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

aged 93, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Born July 1,<br />

1915 in Brutus, MI, she was one of eight children. Dorothy was preceded in death by<br />

husband, Alex. She is survived by three sons, John (Janet) of Atlanta, GA, Thomas<br />

(Jerene) of Grand Rapids, and Gordon (Elaine) of Coggon, Iowa; three grandchildren,<br />

Lisa <strong>Gunn</strong> Toney of Lutz, FL, Carrie <strong>Gunn</strong> of Norcross, GA, and Thomas <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. of<br />

Chicago, IL; one great-grandchild, Erin Hand of Norcross, GA; one sister, Virginia<br />

Groneveld; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no memorial service.<br />

Dorothy <strong>Gunn</strong> Ghormley, 81, of Oak Ridge, Wa. died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at NHC<br />

Health Care of Oak Ridge.Mrs. Ghormley was a homemaker and a Methodist. She was<br />

born in Tacoma, Wash., on Dec. 28, 1917, the daughter of William Chalmers and Isadora<br />

Ayres <strong>Gunn</strong>. Mrs. Ghormley is survived by her son, John William Ghormley of Lenoir
