Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN) - October 10, 2000 Anderson Gunnn, 44, of
Memphis, salesman, died of pneumonia Friday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home with burial in
West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He leaves three daughters, Danzell Gunn, Lakesha
Gunn and Candace Gunn; three sons, Anderson Gunn III, Cedric Gunn and Markeith
Gunn, and his parents, Delphine and Anderson Gunn, all of Memphis; five sisters, Linda
Moore, Gloria Gunn and Stacey Penrose, all of Chicago, and Carolyn Gunn and Sandra
Gunn, both of Memphis, and his brother, Willie Ealy of Memphis.

passed on December 31, 2001 after an extended illness. Funeral services for Mr. Gunn will
be held on Saturday January 5, 2002 1:00pm at Fort St. United Methodist Church 562 Blvd
NE Atlanta, Ga. Rev. Byron Thomas officiating. Remains will lie in state at the church
from 12noon until the hour of service. Interment Westview Cemetery. Mr. Gunn leaves to
cherish loving memories wife Patricia Gunn, sons and daughters-in-law Mr. & Mrs.
Rodney Keen, Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Gunn, Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Gunn., sister Ernestine

Andrew E. Gunn
DANVILLE - Andrew E. Gunn, 90, of 612 Mount Cross Road, died Tuesday, March 31,
2009, at Riverside Health Care Center. Born September 15, 1918, in Pittsylvania County,
he was the son of the late Willie Gunn and Sallie Dunbar Gunn. He was married to Lena
Blake Gunn who died September 11, 2002.He lived most of his life in the Danville area and
had worked 40 years with Dan River, Inc. Mr. Gunn entered the US Army in 1942 as a
Quarter Master company clerk mail dispatcher. He served in thirty-six states and seven
foreign countries including nine months in the combat zone in Germany, Austria and
Czechoslovakia during World War II. He was a charter member of Shermont Baptist
Church. He is survived by two daughters, Ronnie Gunn Stanton and husband Lloyd of
Danville and Patricia Rowland Young of Ringgold; a sister, Catherine Hearp of Mt. Cross
Road; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and
parents he was predeceased by a twin brother, Allen Gunn and two sisters, Mabel Hobson
Hubbard and Margaret Wilson. A graveside military service by American Legion Dan
River Post #1097 will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Danville Memorial
Gardens with the Rev. Jim Stowe officiating. The family will be located at 457 Conifer
