Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN) - October 10, 2000 Anderson <strong>Gunn</strong>n, 44, of<br />

Memphis, salesman, died of pneumonia Friday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center.<br />

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home with burial in<br />

West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He leaves three daughters, Danzell <strong>Gunn</strong>, Lakesha<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> and Candace <strong>Gunn</strong>; three sons, Anderson <strong>Gunn</strong> III, Cedric <strong>Gunn</strong> and Markeith<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, and his parents, Delphine and Anderson <strong>Gunn</strong>, all of Memphis; five sisters, Linda<br />

Moore, Gloria <strong>Gunn</strong> and Stacey Penrose, all of Chicago, and Carolyn <strong>Gunn</strong> and Sandra<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, both of Memphis, and his brother, Willie Ealy of Memphis.<br />

passed on December 31, 2001 after an extended illness. Funeral services for Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> will<br />

be held on Saturday January 5, 2002 1:00pm at Fort St. United Methodist Church 562 Blvd<br />

NE Atlanta, Ga. Rev. Byron Thomas officiating. Remains will lie in state at the church<br />

from 12noon until the hour of service. Interment Westview Cemetery. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> leaves to<br />

cherish loving memories wife Patricia <strong>Gunn</strong>, sons and daughters-in-law Mr. & Mrs.<br />

Rodney Keen, Mr. & Mrs. Anthony <strong>Gunn</strong>, Mr. & Mrs. Andrew <strong>Gunn</strong>., sister Ernestine<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, three brothers, Willie <strong>Gunn</strong>, Mr & Mrs. Jarnard <strong>Gunn</strong>, three grandchildren, two<br />

sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephew, , cousins, and many friends<br />

are asked to assemble at 3557 Salem Hills Dr.Lithonia, Ga. 12noon. Wake tonight<br />

Andrew E. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

DANVILLE - Andrew E. <strong>Gunn</strong>, 90, of 612 Mount Cross Road, died Tuesday, March 31,<br />

2009, at Riverside Health Care Center. Born September 15, 1918, in Pittsylvania County,<br />

he was the son of the late Willie <strong>Gunn</strong> and Sallie Dunbar <strong>Gunn</strong>. He was married to Lena<br />

Blake <strong>Gunn</strong> who died September 11, 2002.He lived most of his life in the Danville area and<br />

had worked 40 years with Dan River, Inc. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> entered the US Army in 1942 as a<br />

Quarter Master company clerk mail dispatcher. He served in thirty-six states and seven<br />

foreign countries including nine months in the combat zone in Germany, Austria and<br />

Czechoslovakia during World War II. He was a charter member of Shermont Baptist<br />

Church. He is survived by two daughters, Ronnie <strong>Gunn</strong> Stanton and husband Lloyd of<br />

Danville and Patricia Rowland Young of Ringgold; a sister, Catherine Hearp of Mt. Cross<br />

Road; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and<br />

parents he was predeceased by a twin brother, Allen <strong>Gunn</strong> and two sisters, Mabel Hobson<br />

Hubbard and Margaret Wilson. A graveside military service by American Legion Dan<br />

River Post #1097 will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Danville Memorial<br />

Gardens with the Rev. Jim Stowe officiating. The family will be located at 457 Conifer<br />

Drive, Danville. Swicegood Funeral Home is serving the <strong>Gunn</strong> family (Thomas and Sarah<br />
