Lena Curtis <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Lena Curtis <strong>Gunn</strong>, 80, wife of M. S. <strong>Gunn</strong>, prominent Helena, Montana attorney, passed<br />

away shortly before midnight last night Nov 5, 1933 at the family home. She was stricken<br />

suddenly a week ago Sunday evening by an Infection of her lungs which was the cause of<br />

death, Several physicians and nurses were In constant attendance but she was unable to<br />

rally from the effects of the poison which spread through her system. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a<br />

native of Kansas and came to Helena Immediately following her graduation from Oberlln<br />

college In Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Curtis, pioneers of<br />

Montana, who came here In 1866 and made their home In this city many years. Mr. Curtis<br />

died some years ago, and Mrs. Curtis, then the wife of W. S. Spaulding, passed away about<br />

11 years ago. Lena Curtis was married In 1892 to Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong>, then a promising young<br />

attorney associated with the law firm of McConnclI, Carter and Clayberg, and since that<br />

time has had a prominent part in the social life of the city. She was associated with many<br />

civic and welfare enterprises for the betterment of the community and won esteem and love<br />

of all who knew her. The news of her sudden death brought grief to a host of friends. She<br />

was a charter member of the Congregational church In Helena and since its dissolution had<br />

been affiliated with the Presbyterian church. Always modest and unassuming, she had a<br />

kindly and charming personality that endeared her to everyone. Besides her husband, she<br />

Is survived by a son, Milton C. <strong>Gunn</strong>, and a daughter, Mrs. Fred Sell, both of Helena, three<br />

grandchildren. Sally Sell, and Betty and Philip <strong>Gunn</strong>; her step-father, W. 8. Spaulding,<br />

who resides In California, and a cousin, Mrs. Mattie Townsend of Cleveland.<br />

Lena Todd <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Announcement is made of the death of Mrs. Lena Todd <strong>Gunn</strong> who died yesterday, May 4,<br />

1926 at a local infirmary after an illness of four weeks. The funeral will be held from<br />

Johnson’s M. E. Church near Warrenton tomorrow morning at 11 o clock. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> is<br />

survived by her husband Charlie <strong>Gunn</strong>; 4 sons; Luther <strong>Gunn</strong>; Grogan <strong>Gunn</strong>; Joseph<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; and charlie <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr; 4 daughters; mrs. J. O. Reinhard; Miss Annie Lee <strong>Gunn</strong>;<br />

Miss Alice <strong>Gunn</strong>; and Miss Eleanor <strong>Gunn</strong> and her mother; Mrs. Annette Todd; one<br />

brother John Todd; and five sisters, Mrs. Earl Todd, Mrs. Robert Wren, Mrs. Luther Neal<br />

and Mrs. Jack Cato, Mrs Albert Swint and one grandchild, Dorothy <strong>Gunn</strong>.<br />

Lennox <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Lennox <strong>Gunn</strong> of Ben Franklin died Tuesday, Jan. 24, at McCuistion Medical Center.<br />

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 1989 at 2 p.m. at the Maxey Funeral Home Chapel<br />

with the Rev. R.L. Gray officiating. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery.Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was<br />

born June 25,1906, in Lamar County, a son of Ed and Harriet Embry <strong>Gunn</strong>. He attended<br />

Lamar County schools and was a retired farmer. Surviving are four daughters, Martha<br />

Mims, Stella <strong>Gunn</strong> and Earnestine <strong>Gunn</strong>, all of Ben Franklin, and Aline Hickerson of<br />

Paris; one son, L.J. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Paris; and 36 other descendants<br />

Lenore K. <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

91, formerly of Grace Edgewood Apartments, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at the
