and some day when the mists have rolled away we shall see her in that home where there is<br />

no night or death and where we will never say good-bye. She was a faithful member of<br />

Calvary Baptist Church and until she was forced to remain at home on account of her<br />

physical weakness she was a regular attendant at church services, giving loyal support to her<br />

church and pastor. She was a loving mother and devoted wife and her passing leaves a big<br />

void in the family circle. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. W. Overby, of<br />

Fieldale, Va., her former pastor and the remains were laid to rest in the Shady Grove<br />

Thelma Marie <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

70, Kansas City, MO, passed away February 10, 1997, at Truman Medical Center. Funeral<br />

services will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 17, at E.R. Morris Funeral Chapel, 4316 Troost<br />

Avenue, Kansas City, MO; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Friends<br />

Thelma Mae Francis,<br />

91, of Fort Madison died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Fort Madison Health Center. Born<br />

Oct. 20, 1919, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of William H. and Cloda <strong>New</strong>berry<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>. On Dec. 4, , she married Floyd "Flip" Francis in Fort Madison. Mrs.. Francis was a<br />

member of Community of Christ Church, where she was the organist for 40 years. She<br />

delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered for the Bloodmobile. Survivors include her<br />

husband; one daughter, Janis Linquist of Des Moines; two sons, Dennis "Ned" Francis of<br />

Mount Sterling and Gary Francis of Burlington; seven grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren;<br />

one sister, Wilma Tucker of Independence, Mo.; and two brothers, Raymond<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> of Independence and Ralph <strong>Gunn</strong> of Grayson, Md. She was preceded in death by her<br />

parents, one grandson and one brother. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at King-<br />

Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison, where family will receive friends from 5<br />

to 7 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Francis will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at King-Lynk Funeral<br />

Home & Crematory with the Rev. Betty Tripp officiating. Burial will be in Soldiers' Circle,<br />

Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Mo.<br />

Thelma R. <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

age 92 of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Oct. 30, 2009 at Hospice of the Ozarks<br />

Hospice House. She was born Feb. 3, 1917 in Long Pine, Nebraska to Fred G. and Rose A.<br />

Link. She married Leonard F. <strong>Gunn</strong> on Nov. 25, 1936 in Litchfield, IL. She enjoyed bowling<br />

and golfing. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a member of the Lady Elks and the First Methodist Church in<br />

Mountain Home. Survivors include a son, Bob and wife Diane <strong>Gunn</strong> of St. Louis, MO; a<br />

daughter, Janet Zenner of Charlotte, North Carolina; a sister, Betty Kiser of Mountain<br />

Home; 6 grandchildren: Randy, Leslie, Stephanie, Angie, Craig and Christine; 9 great<br />

grandchildren: Curt, Josh, Danielle, Christopher, Connor, Justin, Jacob, Nick and Audrey;<br />

several nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; son-in-law, Bill Zenner; brother and sister-in-law Lester & Dorothy Link. Visitation
