Mamie Braddock <strong>Gunn</strong> -<br />

An 85 year-old native of Rose Hill, Mississippi and a long time resident of Saraland, passed<br />

away at her home on Friday, May 11, 2012. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a charter member of Southern<br />

Methodist Church of West Mobile. She retired after many years of service from Smith's<br />

Bakery. The true matriarch of her family, Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a loving and devoted wife,<br />

mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family.<br />

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Olen Cyril <strong>Gunn</strong>. Survivors include<br />

her children, Barbara Williams, Patricia Aplin (Jerry) and Teresa Jenkins (Tim);<br />

sister-in-law, Ava Braddock; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her loving and<br />

professional caregiver, Brittany Pugh, many other relatives and friends. Funeral services<br />

will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday, May 14,<br />

2012, at 2:00 p.m. with her grandson, Rev. Jeff Howard officiating. The family will receive<br />

friends at the funeral home from 12 Noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest<br />

Lawn Memorial Gardens.<br />

Mamie L. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Funeral will be held at 4 pm Wednesday at Brown’s Chapel For Mrs. Mamie L. <strong>Gunn</strong>, 65<br />

of 1507 Lindsey St who died Saturday at Moses Cone Hospital. Dr. J. W. Tynes pastor<br />

emeritus of Providence Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Maplewood<br />

Cemetery. Surviving are a son William of Greensboro; a brother Robert Williams and a<br />

sister Mrs. Maude Hilder, both of Columbia, SC and a grandson. Greensboro Record,<br />

Mamie Louise <strong>Gunn</strong> Wireback,<br />

age 79, passed away March 3, 2008, in Shreveport, La. Lu was born Oct. 23, 1928, in<br />

Pursley, the youngest daughter of O.B. and Mamie <strong>Gunn</strong>. She was a graduate of Corsicana<br />

High School and Abilene Christian College.She spent her career as an executive secretary<br />

in the oil and gas business, forming her own business for many years in Lafayette, La.<br />

Later she transferred to Shreveport, La., with O’Brian Drilling Co. After retirement she<br />

went to work for Jack Dykes until his death in 1985.Lu was a member of the Church of<br />

Christ and a member of the ACBL (Bridge Club), having served as secretary, president<br />

and on the board of directors.She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Wireback;<br />

her parents, O.B. and Mamie Faust <strong>Gunn</strong>; brothers, C.B. <strong>Gunn</strong> and Rex <strong>Gunn</strong>; and sisters,<br />

Nadine <strong>Gunn</strong>, Gaynell Hubbard Elliott, Doris Comer and Billie Kirk of Corsicana.She is<br />

survived by her sisters, Wanda Brown of Corsicana and Edrie Keil of Odessa; and<br />

numerous nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed a family of good friends including her best<br />

friend, Diana “DeDe” McKeller. Arrangements by Boone Funeral Home, Shreveport<br />

MADISONVILLE, Ky. -- Manuel <strong>Gunn</strong>, 83, died Friday morning at Regional Medical<br />

Center. He was a retired coal miner for Island Creek Coal Co. and a member of the
