Bettie Gunn
The many friends and acquaintances of Mr. John A. Gunn and his wife Kate, offer them
their sympathy in the death of their little daughter, Bettie, who died on the 9 July, 1889.
Bettie was 14 months old a bright loving sprightly affectionate child beloved by all who

Funeral services for Miss Bettie Gunn were held from Prospect church near here Saturday
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. S. J. Barnes and Rev. S. F. Nicks of Roxboro. Interment
will be in the church cemetery. Miss Gunn was 83 years of age. She died Friday morning at
3:30 o'clock at the home of her nephew, J. O. Gunn. She had been a member of the

Bettie Gunn
Thursday, May 22, 2003 - Bettie Lou Gunn, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday,
May 20, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Cape
Girardeau, daughter of Hugh and Roxie Henson Mitchell. She was a graduate of Central
High School. Bettie worked 30 years in Pensacola, Fla. She moved to Alaska and worked on
the Alaska Pipe Line from 1980 to 1983, where she was a member of the Culinary Union.
Upon retirement in 1983, Bettie moved back to Cape Girardeau. She has been a resident of
Fountainbleau Lodge more than three years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law,
Victor R. and Mary Gunn of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Marabelle Sams of Biloxi, Miss.; a
brother, Diamond Blakney of Biloxi; a granddaughter, Alexia Gunn of Cape Girardeau;
two uncles, Donald and Fred Kraft of Cape Girardeau. She was preceded in death by two
brothers. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape
Girardeau. The Rev. Joel Hebert will officiate. McCombs Funeral Home in Cape
Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
Bettie Gunn Baldacci,
84, of Richmond, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 7, 2008. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Leo P. Baldacci. She leaves to cherish her memory two devoted
children and their spouses, Bill and Janet Baldacci, and Janet B. and Steve Puckett; five
loving grandchildren, Jen, Nikki, Brittany, Vanessa, and Brian; six great-grandchildren,
Mackenzie, Jonah, Julia, Sadie, Delilah, and Ava; and one sister, Virginia G. Sheperd. The
family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bliley's - Staples
Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where a celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday,
March 11. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. The family would like to express a very
special thank you to the staff at Bon Secours Hospice and Chestnut Grove Assisted Living.
