Bettie <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

The many friends and acquaintances of Mr. John A. <strong>Gunn</strong> and his wife Kate, offer them<br />

their sympathy in the death of their little daughter, Bettie, who died on the 9 July, 1889.<br />

Bettie was 14 months old a bright loving sprightly affectionate child beloved by all who<br />

Funeral services for Miss Bettie <strong>Gunn</strong> were held from Prospect church near here Saturday<br />

afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. S. J. Barnes and Rev. S. F. Nicks of Roxboro. Interment<br />

will be in the church cemetery. Miss <strong>Gunn</strong> was 83 years of age. She died Friday morning at<br />

3:30 o'clock at the home of her nephew, J. O. <strong>Gunn</strong>. She had been a member of the<br />

Bettie <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Thursday, May 22, 2003 - Bettie Lou <strong>Gunn</strong>, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday,<br />

May 20, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Cape<br />

Girardeau, daughter of Hugh and Roxie Henson Mitchell. She was a graduate of Central<br />

High School. Bettie worked 30 years in Pensacola, Fla. She moved to Alaska and worked on<br />

the Alaska Pipe Line from 1980 to 1983, where she was a member of the Culinary Union.<br />

Upon retirement in 1983, Bettie moved back to Cape Girardeau. She has been a resident of<br />

Fountainbleau Lodge more than three years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law,<br />

Victor R. and Mary <strong>Gunn</strong> of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Marabelle Sams of Biloxi, Miss.; a<br />

brother, Diamond Blakney of Biloxi; a granddaughter, Alexia <strong>Gunn</strong> of Cape Girardeau;<br />

two uncles, Donald and Fred Kraft of Cape Girardeau. She was preceded in death by two<br />

brothers. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape<br />

Girardeau. The Rev. Joel Hebert will officiate. McCombs Funeral Home in Cape<br />

Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.<br />

Bettie <strong>Gunn</strong> Baldacci,<br />

84, of Richmond, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 7, 2008. She was preceded in<br />

death by her husband, Leo P. Baldacci. She leaves to cherish her memory two devoted<br />

children and their spouses, Bill and Janet Baldacci, and Janet B. and Steve Puckett; five<br />

loving grandchildren, Jen, Nikki, Brittany, Vanessa, and Brian; six great-grandchildren,<br />

Mackenzie, Jonah, Julia, Sadie, Delilah, and Ava; and one sister, Virginia G. Sheperd. The<br />

family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bliley's - Staples<br />

Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where a celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday,<br />

March 11. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. The family would like to express a very<br />

special thank you to the staff at Bon Secours Hospice and Chestnut Grove Assisted Living.<br />
