her son, David <strong>Gunn</strong>, St. George"s Channel. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday<br />

in Black River United Church, Rev. Fran Six officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial will<br />

be in MacKay Cemetery at a later date. No flowers by request. Donations in memory of<br />

Lenore may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital. Funeral arrangements are under the<br />

care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.<br />

One - The many friends of Mr. Jesse <strong>Gunn</strong>, formerly of this place, will regret to learn of<br />

the death of his wife which occurred at their home at Savannah Sunday. The deceased was<br />

36 years old, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Cobb of Americus. Her remains were<br />

interred Monday in the cemetery at Americus. Besides her husband Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived<br />

by three small children, one brother and five sisters.<br />

GUNN LENORE W. GUNN (nee Weber), age 88. Loving mother of Walter (wife Roseann),<br />

Fred (wife Denise), Martha Andrus and Carrie Peterson (husband Wayne); grandmother<br />

of Fred, Stacey, Julie and Jaimie <strong>Gunn</strong> and Calle and Cody Andrus; sister of Bill Weber<br />

(wife Ann); beloved aunt and great-aunt; friend to many. The family will receive friends<br />

Lenore <strong>Gunn</strong> Purcell<br />

Feb. 22, 1906, Kinmundy IL: - Mrs. Lenore Purcell: Lenore <strong>Gunn</strong> was born at Richview,<br />

Ill., Sept. 7, 1850. She was the second daughter of John C. and Caroline <strong>Gunn</strong>. The family<br />

was composed of five girls and three boys. Two of her brothers have died leaving but one<br />

brother, Dan, who is in St. Louis sick and thu s unable to attend the funeral. This death is<br />

the first break in the circle of five sisters, three of whom Mrs. M. Maxon of St. Louis; Mrs.<br />

W.W. Neil of Kinmundy; and Mrs. A.C. BARNES of Centralia were present at the funeral;<br />

one sister, Mrs. B.E. Baldwin is in Hoquain, Wash., too far away to be able to attend. She<br />

was married to Edward H. Pursell April 25, 1866, in Centralia, Ill. They resided in<br />

Galesburg and other points for several years, finally settling in St. Louis, where the last<br />

twenty-five years of her life were spent. To them were born six children, four daughters<br />

and two sons. One daughter and one son have preceded her in death leaving three<br />

daughters and one son: Mrs. Edwin Dyer, Mrs. Scott Shelly; Miss Fannie Pursell, and John<br />

Dates Pursell, all of St. Louis. Also four grandchildren, Sadie and Alice Dyer, Bessie and<br />

Edwin Shelley. Her husband died 16 years ago and was brought here for burial as were<br />

also their son and daughters. Her death occurred Friday, Feb. 16, 1906, at the age of 56<br />

years, 5 months and 9 days. She was a member of the Compton Heights Christian church,<br />

the pastor of which Rev. F.N. Calvin, held services at the home of the deceased, assisted by<br />

the members of the Eastern Star, of which she was a member, on Monday afternoon at 2<br />

p.m. The remains were brought to Kinmundy Monday night. On Tuesday burial services<br />

were held at the home of W.W. Neil and wife. Appropriate music was rendered by a trio of
