Dartha Louise <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Funeral services were held from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home on Wednesday,<br />

October 3, 2007 at 12 noon with Chaplain Keith Johnson officiating. Pallbearers were<br />

Kameron Wilde, Collins Miller, Patrick Hurley, Tom Keovoravong, Doug Cayton and<br />

Doug Cayton, Jr. Interment was in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are<br />

Dartha L. <strong>Gunn</strong>, a native of Little River and a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, died<br />

Sunday at the age of 69. Survivors include her husband, Wiley E. "Gene" <strong>Gunn</strong> of Mobile;<br />

three children, Dartha Cayton of Irvington and James Miller and Albert Joseph Miller,<br />

both of Mobile; two sisters, Carrie Lou Morris of Ozark, Ala., and Sadie Mae Rider of Bay<br />

Minette; three brothers, Arrie Green of Robertsdale, Frank Green of Marlow and Charles<br />

Green of Houston; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be<br />

from 5 to 8 tonight at Serenity Funeral Home on Old Pascagoula Road in Theodore, where<br />

the service is set for noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.<br />

died Saturday morning at her home in her 69th year. Survivors arc: Son. Thomas A.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; brother. C. H: Obenhaus or Portland. Ore.: sister, Mrs. A C. Paul of Palestine, Tex.:<br />

one granchild Thomas <strong>Gunn</strong> Services at 4 p. m., Saturday, July 29, at chapel of Akers<br />

Funeral Home with Rev. W D Wilburn Sr. officiating. The body will be taken overland to<br />

Columbus, Tex., for interment there at 3 p. m., Sunday July 30, 1939 in the I O. O. F. Rest<br />

at Obenhaus family plot. Arrangements by Roy Akers. Funeral Director.<br />

Dave <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr.<br />

81, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at home. Born July 4, 1921, in Egypt,<br />

Miss., he was a Brickmason for several years. He was a member of International Union of<br />

Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen, American Legion Post 296 and Union Baptist Church.<br />

He was a World War II Army veteran. He enlisted Oct. 16, 1942, and was honorably<br />

discharged Jan. 18, 1946. He received several medals including the WWII Victory Medal.<br />

Surviving are wife, Thelma <strong>Gunn</strong> of Fort Wayne; three sons, James <strong>Gunn</strong> (Toussainte) of<br />

Indianapolis, Robert <strong>Gunn</strong> (Robbie Lynn) of South Bend and David <strong>Gunn</strong> of Phenix City,<br />

Ala.; four daughters, Amanda Griffin (James), Ellen <strong>Gunn</strong>, Beverly <strong>Gunn</strong>, all of South<br />

Bend and Jacqueline Harrison of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Leroy <strong>Gunn</strong> and Rufus <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

(Rebecca), all of Chicago; two sisters, Irene Boone of South Bend and Charity Patterson of<br />

Houston, Texas; a brother-in-law, George Head of Chicago; 16 grandchildren; 22 greatgrand-children.<br />

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave <strong>Gunn</strong> Sr. and Mary Crow<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>; two sisters, Sara Donaldson and Ethel Head; and one brother, Taylor <strong>Gunn</strong>. Service<br />

is 11 a.m. Monday at Union Baptist Church, 2200 Smith St. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m.<br />

Sunday at the church. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens. Military rites by American<br />

Legion Post 296. Arrangements by Carmichael Funeral Service<br />
