spoke fondly of his Bellingham ‘church family,’ friends from the tennis and golf clubs, as<br />

well as his wonderful condo neighbors. Early to bed and early to rise, Alf walked two hours<br />

each morning. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s he switched to exercising indoors.<br />

He kept up on current events and liked discussing politics and gospel topics. Legally blind<br />

since 2000 he enjoyed reading his books on tape furnished by the State Library for the<br />

Blind. He delighted in being around his great-grandchildren and attending the LDS<br />

temple. He is survived by his children: Alfred Gary <strong>Gunn</strong> (Marcia) of Gig Harbor, WA;<br />

Ronald R. <strong>Gunn</strong> (Marlene) of Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Gaylene Beeson (Richard) of Orem,<br />

UT; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and brother Rodger <strong>Gunn</strong> (Helen) of<br />

Provo, UT. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; sisters Gwendolyn Fullmer and<br />

Dorathea Jensen; brother Raymond J. <strong>Gunn</strong>; and a grandchild, Joseph Beeson. Graveside<br />

services for friends and family will be held at Greenacres Cemetery in Ferndale, WA at<br />

11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010.<br />

Alfreda <strong>Gunn</strong> Bland<br />

72, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (April 27, 2007) under the care of Hospice of the Florida<br />

Suncoast in South Pasadena. She was born in Danville, Va., and moved here in 2006 from<br />

Philadelphia, where she worked as a waiter and nursing assistant. She was a member of the<br />

Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church, where she served on the mother board in<br />

Philadelphia. Survivors include four sons, Anthony McLaguhlin, Riverview, Tyrone Bland,<br />

Dwight Bland and Reginald McLaguhlin, and a daughter, Doris <strong>Gunn</strong>, all of Philadelphia.<br />

Mrs. Algie <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Relative here have recived word of the death last week of Mrs. Algie <strong>Gunn</strong> of Ashland,<br />

Oregon, age 30, a victim of pneumonia following an attack of influenza. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a<br />

daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Wyllie of Free Stone, California. Mrs. Wyllie who was<br />

formerly Miss Dora Beach, was a daughter of Mrs. Harriet Beach one of the pioneer<br />

residents of Osolo township who died a few months ago and a sister of Mrs. Aymer<br />

McKean of this city and Charles Beach of Osolo township. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by a son<br />

age six years and a daughter aged two years and two sisters, besides the parents all living in<br />

Alice Barksdale <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Alice Barksdale <strong>Gunn</strong> departed this life May 23, 2009 to be with her Lord and Savior. She<br />

was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence E. "Buddy" <strong>Gunn</strong>; and daughter,<br />

Patricia Brewer. She is survived by her loving grand-daughter and caregiver, Tina<br />

Worsham and her husband, Dennis; grandson, William Brewer and his wife, Nancy; two<br />

great-grandsons, Dennis Jr. and Justin; and her brother, Marion Barksdale. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

was a member of Clover Hill Baptist Church. Her family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to<br />

8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where funeral services will<br />

be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Dale Memorial Park.<br />
