grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Wally was married to Edna B. Ogden on<br />

June 5, 1993 and was loved and accepted by her family. Wally served a mission for the LDS<br />

church in the Southern States from 1940-1942. After his marriage to Donna, he served in the<br />

Air Force during World War II. Wally was a fireman for five years in the Los Angeles Fire<br />

Department and after a medical discharge did his undergraduate work at USC and<br />

graduated from Los Angeles Chiropractic College in 1956. Over the next 30 years he had<br />

successful chiropractic practices in California and Utah and served nationally and on state<br />

levels within the profession before retiring in 1986.<br />

Wallace Michael <strong>Gunn</strong> of Sacramento, California, 59, died. Remains will be held at Tucker<br />

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church for Wallace R.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, 78, of Hattiesburg, Pa. who died Jan. 27, 2003, at Forrest General Hospital. Burial<br />

will be in Roseland Park Cemetery. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was an attorney and a member of Trinity<br />

Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, Alice Schwartz <strong>Gunn</strong> of Hattiesburg; two<br />

daughters, Martha Alice Carter of Sumrall and Patricia Rankin of Hattiesburg; two<br />

grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Hulett-<br />

WENTWORTH - Walter Allen <strong>Gunn</strong> Sr., 94, of 440 Spring Road, Wentworth, passed away<br />

on Monday, February 22, 2010, at Hospice of Rockingham County, surrounded by his family.<br />

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 25 at Wilkerson Funeral<br />

Home, 1909 Richardson Drive in Reidsville, with the Rev. Fred Moretz, the Rev. Larry<br />

Durham and the Rev. John Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery on<br />

Barnes Street in Reidsville. The pallbearers will be Keith <strong>Gunn</strong>, Derek <strong>Gunn</strong>, Roman <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

Matthew <strong>Gunn</strong>, Greg Strader, Brad <strong>Gunn</strong>, Lance <strong>Gunn</strong>, Mark Reeves, Bobby Sands and<br />

Nathan Rich. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was born in Reidsville, N.C. on August 23, 1915, to the late Alvin E.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> and Nell Burton <strong>Gunn</strong>. He was a farmer and served on the ASCS Community<br />

Committee for many years, and as a judge for the Rockingham County Board of Elections. He<br />

was a life-long member of Wentworth United Methodist Church, where he served as a<br />

Trustee. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was preceded in death by his wife, Mittie Barrett <strong>Gunn</strong>; youngest son,<br />

Walter A. <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. and grandson, John Curtis <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr.; sister, Edwina <strong>Gunn</strong>; brother,<br />

Ralph <strong>Gunn</strong>; and special friend, Pauline Sands. Surviving are sons, John Curtis <strong>Gunn</strong> Sr.<br />

(Alieta) of Claremore, Okla., Donald Ray <strong>Gunn</strong> (Sonja) of Madison, Nelson Allen <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

(Mona) of Burlington; daughters, Brenda Strader Ward (Bill) of Wentworth, and Jewell Dull<br />

(Larry) of Greensboro; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Jean <strong>Gunn</strong> of Wentworth; brother,<br />

Lawrence <strong>Gunn</strong> (Julia) of Wentworth, and sister, Nelvin Reeves of Parkersburg, N.C. Mr.
