Ola Jean <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

JONESBORO - Ola Jean <strong>Gunn</strong>, 67, passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, in Jonesboro. She<br />

was born May 12, 1943, in Batesville to the late Archie and Mildred McClurg Bishop. She<br />

was preceded in death by her husband, Russell <strong>Gunn</strong>, whom she married on Feb. 26, 1966, in<br />

Coloma, Mich. She loved playing Bingo and worked for many years in the jewelry<br />

department at Wal-Mart. Survivors include one daughter, Becky Shipman and husband<br />

Randy of Jonesboro; a son, Steve <strong>Gunn</strong> of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Chris Shipman<br />

of Baton Rouge, La., and Josh and Angel Shipman, both of Jonesboro; two sisters, Linda<br />

Cummings and husband Jerry and Darlene Grubb, all of Watervliet, Mich.; and one<br />

brother, Larry Bishop and wife Kathy of Watervliet. She was also preceded in death by one<br />

sister, Brenda Lambrecht; and a brother, Robert Bishop. A celebration of her life will be<br />

held at 10 a.m. Monday at Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Pastor Craig Stoll of<br />

Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro<br />

Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today at the Gregg Funeral Home<br />

Chapel in Jonesboro. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Wayne Timmons, Clarence<br />

Shinault, David May, Murphy Owen, Ralph Smith and Stephen Cox. Honorary pallbearer is<br />

Shane Timmons.<br />

Ola Mae <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Roanoke, Alabama - Funeral services for Ola Mae <strong>Gunn</strong>, 87, of Strozier Street, Roanoke,<br />

were Saturday, Mar. 13, 1993, at 2 p.m. at Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church in Roanoke,<br />

with Rev. L. B. Houston officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> died<br />

Tuesday, Mar. 9, at Randolph County Hospital. She was a member of Sweet Home Baptist<br />

Church in Roanoke. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Nancy R. Houston of<br />

Roanoke, Miss Cornelia <strong>Gunn</strong> and Mrs. Lelia Jackson of Atlanta, Ga, and Mrs. Dollie M.<br />

Ellis of Youngstown, Ohio; one son, Emmitt <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. of Youngstown, Ohio; three brothers,<br />

Willie D. Phillips and Lyn Phillips of Anniston, and Roy Phillips of Orlando, Fla.; two<br />

sisters, Mrs. Mary L. Smith and Mrs. Ethel Tucker of Roanoke; and 21 grandchildren. Vines<br />

Funeral Home of LaFayette handled arrangements.<br />

Ola Mae <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

age 80, of Demorest, Georgia died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at a private care facility. Mrs.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> was born on March 25, 1928 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Dewey and<br />

Flora Mae <strong>Gunn</strong> Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son,<br />

William <strong>Gunn</strong>, her brother, James Gibson, and her granddaughter, Lynn <strong>Gunn</strong> Cooper.<br />

Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was of the Congregational Holiness faith and was a former Sunday School<br />

Teacher. She was a homemaker and was a foster parent. Survivors include: her husband,<br />

Roy <strong>Gunn</strong>, Demorest, GA; her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Tommie Lewallen,<br />

Demorest, GA; her sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Pauline <strong>Gunn</strong>, and Harold and<br />

Dianne <strong>Gunn</strong>, all of Demorest, GA; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral<br />

services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2008 from the Whitfield Funeral<br />

Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Ronald Wilson and Rev. Tony Royston
