1930. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Fred W. Lupton, of Chattanoga,<br />

Tenn; and two sons, Lt. Eugene P. Nicholson, III Pensacola, Florida and David Cloyd<br />

Lucien Elijah <strong>Gunn</strong> -<br />

son of Elijah and Laura <strong>Gunn</strong>, was born Sept. 12, 1858, near Cleveland, Ohio; departed this<br />

life Jan. 21, 1951, at the Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Ind.; aged 92 y. 4 m. 9 d. His greatgrandmother<br />

was the first white woman settler in the city of Cleveland. In 1864 his parents<br />

moved to Cleveland Twp., Elkhart Co., Ind. On June 19, 1880, he married Susannah<br />

Hunsberger and four years later they moved to a farm near Wakarusa and in 1893 they moved<br />

back again to Cleveland Twp. In 1919, they sold the farm and moved to Elkhart again where<br />

they resided ever since. Seventy years ago he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and<br />

throughout his long life he was a witness for Christ. At the time of his death he was a member<br />

of the Bethel E. U. B. Church in Elkhart. His wife preceded him in death in 1934. Surviving<br />

are 2 brothers (Albert E., Afton, Iowa, and Walter S., Long Beach, Calif.), and a number of<br />

nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held at the Olive Mennonite Church, Jan. 24, in<br />

Lucile Ella <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Age 76, of Yucaipa, CA., passed away September 30, 2005 due to multiple causes at Wildwood<br />

Canyon Villa. Lucile was born 03/22/1929 in Walla Walla, WA. She worked in a jewelry store,<br />

advertising and modeling, in Walla Walla, WA. and was a housewife and mother. She<br />

graduated from Walla Walla High School and majored in music and voice at Whitman<br />

College. She sang for soldiers in hospitals during World War II. She was a member of<br />

Crossroads Christian Church in Corona and Creekside Christian Fellowship in Irvine. She<br />

mourned to join her husband Douglas, married 54 years, who had only passed away 2 months<br />

and 3 days prior. Lucile is survived by her 2 sons, Rob <strong>Gunn</strong>, Logan, Utah, Rick <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

Yucaipa, CA.; sister, Francis; 4 grandchildren. Funeral 10/14, 10am at Emmerson Bartlett<br />

Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa Blvd. with burial at 1pm at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu<br />

of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to World Vision. EMMERSON-<br />

Lucille Kathleen <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

ROCKFORD, Illinois - Lucille Kathleen <strong>Gunn</strong>, 67, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Rockford<br />

Memorial Hospital. She had been employed at Honeywell in Freeport for many years retiring<br />

in 2008. Lucille was born December 29, 1943 in Rapids City, SD, the daughter of Hugh and<br />

Lenora (Tapio) Smith. She graduated from <strong>New</strong>man High School. She enjoyed custom sewing<br />

and writing and she had an article published in Red Book. Lucille was a Head Start Teacher<br />

and a beautician. She also studied criminal law. Lucille enjoyed all kinds of music. She was a<br />

<strong>New</strong>man Central Catholic High School graduate. Survivors include three daughters, April<br />

Juarez and Cheryl Juarez, both of Rockford, and Deborah Juarez, of Moline; one son, Mark<br />

(Latreece) Smith-Juarez, of Rockford; one brother, Richard Smith, of Dallas, TX; eight<br />

grandchildren, Michael (Tasha) Juarez, Christa (Thomas) Jennings, Jarred Smith, Logan<br />

Smith, Micah Castonan, Mark Smith, Jr., Lucas Smith and Nia Smith; five greatgrandchildren,<br />

Talia Juarez, Michael Juarez, Jr., Thomas Foat, Amaya Juarez, and Jayden
