music and attending concerts of her favorite performers. "Sylvia was a thoughtful and<br />

caring person and enjoyed being with family and friends," her family wrote. "She enjoyed<br />

giving small gifts and mementos." She is survived by her sisters Janis Peabody of Ignacio,<br />

Alethea Litz of Erie and Sandra <strong>Gunn</strong> of Portland, Ore.; companion, Michael Fasthorse, of<br />

Denver; one niece and four nephews. A funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16,<br />

2008, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ignacio. Deacon Larry Tucker will officiate. Burial<br />

will take place at Ouray Memorial Cemetery . Sylvia <strong>Gunn</strong>, 61, died Saturday, February 9,<br />

2008 in Denver, Colorado. A Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 9:30<br />

A.M. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Deacon Larry Tucker of St. Ignatius Catholic Church<br />

will be officiating. Burial will occur at Ouray Memorial Cemetery in Ignacio. Ms. <strong>Gunn</strong> was<br />

born September 23, 1946 in Ignacio, Colorado the daughter of Graves and Genevieve <strong>Gunn</strong>.<br />

She attended Ignacio Public Schools and graduated from Indian school in Oklahoma. Sylvia<br />

was good with children and worked at the Southern Ute Headstart and Day Care facility.<br />

She also lived in Glencoe, Illinois as a private child caregiver. Sylvia spent her most recent<br />

years living in Denver, Colorado. She had many friends and extended family there. She was<br />

affectionately known as "Auntie Syl" to many she knew in Denver. Sylvia was a thoughtful<br />

and caring person and enjoyed being with family and friends. She enjoyed giving small gifts<br />

and mementos. Sylvia will be missed by her family and especially by her friends in Denver.<br />

She is survived by Alethea Litz (sister) of Erie, CO, Janis Peabody (sister) of Ignacio, Sandra<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> (sister) of Portland, OR, Michael Fasthorse (companion) of Denver, CO, Marie <strong>Gunn</strong>-<br />

Grant (niece), and nephews Anthony <strong>Gunn</strong>, Randall Litz, and Harold and Michael<br />

Carmenaros. She was preceded in death by her parents Graves & Genevieve <strong>Gunn</strong>, sister<br />

Corrine Watts, and brothers Harold and Emory <strong>Gunn</strong>. <strong>My</strong> Dear Friends – There are no<br />

jewels more precious than the friends God sent my way. <strong>My</strong> heart overflows with happiness,<br />

with love they share each day. No matter if I"m sad or blue or feeling down and low, I can<br />

always count on their support until the good times flow. Many faults I have, but they don"t<br />

seem to mind. They know that I"m only human and the good they try to find. Thank you,<br />

Lord, for my dear friends whose love is tested and true. They walk with me through life"s<br />

At peace on January 27, 2004. Loving wife of the late Lorenzo <strong>Gunn</strong> for 59 years; cherished<br />

mother of Elsie (Joseph) Juetten, Adolfo (Erlinda) <strong>Gunn</strong>, <strong>My</strong>rna (Michael) Brauch-Duffy,<br />

Luci Lyons, Vivien (Dan) Springer and the late Archie (Veronica) & Edward (Bess) <strong>Gunn</strong>;<br />

proud grandmother of Tom, Christina, Kelly, Andre, Bryan, Natalie, Stephen, Stacie,<br />

Brittany, Emily, Sally, Bobby, Phillip, Kevin, Denise and Edward; adored great<br />

grandmother of Joe, Lorenzo & Jordan; dear sister of Jose & Lourdes; treasured sister-inlaw<br />

of Beatrice. She will be missed by her best friend and caregiver Edna. Soledad is also<br />

survived by many other loving relatives and friends. She was proud to have been one of the<br />

Mothers of the Church at St. Paul of the Shipwreck. Friends and family may visit Thursday<br />

after 5:00 PM and are invited to attend the Rosary Service also on Thursday at 7:00 PM.<br />

Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30 AM from the chapels of VALENTE MARINI PERATA<br />

& CO., 4840 Mission St., San Francisco. then to the St. Paul of the Shipwreck Church where<br />

a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.<br />
