Sahara Grotto-Past President of the Women Auxillary also was a Greeter for the Auxillary,<br />

Member of the O.E.S. Southport Chapter # 442. Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a<br />

service at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road<br />

135 Chapel in Greenwood. Friends may call from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral<br />

home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be<br />

Cherie Truscott <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

1962 ~ 2009 Cherie Truscott <strong>Gunn</strong> - age 47 of St. George, UT passed away peacefully on<br />

the morning of October 4, 2009.She was born January 25, 1962 in Salt Lake City, UT to<br />

Alonzo and Frankie Truscott. She attended East High School and developed many talents<br />

which include, working as a radio DJ for several years, office manager, and a certified nail<br />

technician. Cherie was very easy going with an inner beauty that matched her loveliness.<br />

She was constantly upbeat, with a contagious laugh. She always had a kind word, even<br />

through her many health challenges. She enjoyed music, books, movies, the St. George<br />

Musical Theatre, many friends, but most of all her children and grand-children. Cherie<br />

married Grant <strong>Gunn</strong>, also of Salt Lake City, in 1990. They relocated to the St. George area<br />

in 1997. Grant was by her side at her passing. Cherie is survived by children: Benjamin<br />

Anthony Draayer, Amber Lynn Morris, Heidi Elizabeth DeFatta; brothers: Joel (Arlene)<br />

Farley, Kim (LuAnn) Truscott, Shawn Truscott, and son-in-law Corry Heppler;<br />

grandchildren: Jared Grant Morris and Lillian Heppler. The family would like to offer<br />

special thanks for the loving care and service she received from the staff at Ridgeview<br />

Gardens where she spent her final years. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday,<br />

October 10, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at the Santa Clara 5th Ward, 3040 West Santa Clara Dr.,<br />

Santa Clara, UT. Arrangements are made under the direction of SereniCare Funeral Home<br />

Chester <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

San Antonio Express - August 10, 1994 - Chester <strong>Gunn</strong> was a businessman who operated a<br />

barber supply store in San Antonio for 25 years. <strong>Gunn</strong> died Saturday. He was 89. Born on<br />

Dec. 11, 1904, in Advance, Mo., <strong>Gunn</strong> joined the Army in 1921 and was sent to Fort Sam<br />

Houston. While in the military, <strong>Gunn</strong> became interested in becoming a barber. He<br />

eventually owned several barber shops and established Alamo City Barber and Beauty<br />

Supply in Alamo Heights in 1948, which he ran for 25 years. <strong>Gunn</strong> and his wife, Charlotte,<br />

were married in 1941. The couple observed their 53rd wedding anniversary June 28. After<br />

retiring in 1973, <strong>Gunn</strong> and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the country, his wife said.<br />

"He also loved to spend time with his great-grandchildren," she said. His hobbies included<br />

collecting antique clocks and watches. <strong>Gunn</strong> was the oldest living member of the Masonic<br />

Order of Albert Pike Lodge and was a member of the Alzafar Shrine Temple. For many<br />

years, he took children from Boysville to the Shrine Circus. <strong>Gunn</strong> was also an active<br />

member of the Alamo Heights United<br />
