of Sweetwater, Tennessee died Wednesday, March 3, in Athens Regional Medical Center.<br />

She was 89. Preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Celia Evans; brother, Tommy<br />

Evans; sister, Ethel Camp; husband, James Emmett <strong>Gunn</strong>; two grandchildren, Kelly<br />

Carpenter and Daniel <strong>Gunn</strong>; and one great-grandchild, Nakole Smith. She was a member<br />

of Lees Chapel Baptist Church for 80 years. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law: Ruby<br />

and Murray Pettitt, Grace and Tommy Carpenter and Dorothy and Paul Thomas, all of<br />

Sweetwater. Sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas <strong>Gunn</strong>, James and Judy <strong>Gunn</strong> of<br />

Sweetwater; and Lester and Marie <strong>Gunn</strong>, of Madisonville. Sisters: MaryBell Jenkins of<br />

Madisonville and Bertha Leonard of Sweetwater. Nineteen grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren<br />

and four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The<br />

family received friends from 6-9 p.m., Thursday, March 4, with the funeral at 2 p.m.,<br />

Friday, March 5 in Sweetwater. The Revs. Paul Thomas and Randy Brannon will officiate.<br />

Interment will follow in Christianburg Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.<br />

Kyker Funeral Home in Sweetwater is in charge of arrangements.<br />

and Barbara <strong>Gunn</strong>-Tierney of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandmother of Cindy Mead-DeRose,<br />
