James Michael <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

age 65 of Bartlesville, OK passed away peacefully Saturday, May 21, 2011, in his home<br />

surrounded by family and friends. Mike was born April 1, 1946, in San Diego, CA, the son<br />

of Howard and Lena Mae (Sikes) <strong>Gunn</strong>. He is the youngest of 7 siblings. Mike was raised in<br />

San Diego and moved to Kansas City where he met the love of his life Marcia (Maddux)<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> and from then on they were inseparable for 23 years.<br />

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with<br />

Chaplain Rick Woodward of Hope Hospice officiating. Cremation arrangements were<br />

under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. The family has set up a<br />

Facebook page in remembrance of his life. Comments and memories are appreciated. A<br />

celebration of life will be held in Kansas City at a later date and will be posted on his page.<br />

A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society , c/o Kathy Leeper<br />

P.O. box 1094, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74005 for those who wish to donate in his memory.<br />

James Michael <strong>Gunn</strong> worked as a Transportation Coordinator at Conoco-Phillips where<br />

he made many friends and memories. Mike was dedicated to his job and he especially<br />

cherished spending time with his family and friends. When he wasn't with them you could<br />

often find him on the computer, where he spend time building his virtual farms and<br />

factories. Mike also liked to target shoot and fly remote control airplanes. Mike is<br />

remembered by all who knew him as a genuine, caring, and loyal friend and by his unique<br />

and exceptional sense of humor. His humor and wisdom will be greatly missed.<br />

James Michael <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marcia (Maddux) <strong>Gunn</strong>. Two<br />

sons, James <strong>Gunn</strong> (Chip) of Issaquah, Washington and Recke Lampson of Huntsville,<br />

Texas, one daughter Sharon Kuhl of Kansas City, 4 grandchildren, Zachary and Ryan<br />

Kuhl, Anthony and Andrew Lampson and numerous nieces and nephews. Two sisters,<br />

Doris Haberlein of San Diego and Joyce Swanson of Balboa Island, California. Mike is<br />

preceded in death by his mother and father Howard and Lena Mae and 2 brothers, Horace<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, Andrew <strong>Gunn</strong>, and two sisters Hazel <strong>Gunn</strong> and Barbara <strong>Gunn</strong>.<br />

CENTRAL CITY, Kty - James Mitchell <strong>Gunn</strong> Sr. of Central City died at 2:30 p.m.<br />

Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.<br />

Born Dec. 4, 1934, in Muhlenberg County he was a retired miner and a member of<br />

Richardson Chapel General Baptist Church. James was preceded in death by a daughter,<br />

Denise Diane <strong>Gunn</strong>; brothers Jackie <strong>Gunn</strong> and David <strong>Gunn</strong>; and sisters Joe Bob <strong>Gunn</strong> and<br />

Betty Geary. Survivors include his wife, Diane Judith <strong>Gunn</strong> of Central City; five sons,<br />

James Mitchell <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. of Central City, Rory Dale <strong>Gunn</strong> of Central City, Jeffrey Scott<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> Sr. of Greenville, Kevin Allen <strong>Gunn</strong> of Bremen and Brian Keith <strong>Gunn</strong> of Central<br />

City; a daughter, Tonya Kay <strong>Gunn</strong> of Central City; 26 grandchildren; nine<br />

great-grandchildren; four brothers, Buddy <strong>Gunn</strong> of Cleaton, Johnny <strong>Gunn</strong> of Greenville,<br />

Kenny <strong>Gunn</strong> of South Carrollton and Mitchell <strong>Gunn</strong> of Greenville; and a sister, Kay<br />

Taylor of Chicago. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral<br />

Home in Central City, with the Revs. T.H. Davis, Scott Thompson and Curtis McGehee<br />

officiating the service. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Cleaton. Visitation will be after<br />

5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at<br />
