Education from Georgia State College for Women and retired after forty-two years of<br />

dedicated service from the Aiken County Area 3 School District. A very active member of<br />

Langley First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school for many years, was a member of<br />

WMU, the Triple L Club, and started the church library. Mrs. Sawyer was past Worthy<br />

Matron of the Langley, SC constellation of the Order of the Eastern Star. Family<br />

members include a son, William <strong>Gunn</strong> Sawyer, (Anne) Graniteville, SC; daughter-in-law,<br />

Ann H. Sawyer, Clearwater, SC; grandchildren, Jon Sawyer, (Michelle) Tonya Sawyer<br />

Gordon, (Stacey) Michael Sawyer, and Jeffrey Sawyer, (Angela) and great-grandchildren,<br />

Sawyer Gordon, Tyler Sawyer, Ally Gordon, Chloe Sawyer, and Gabe Sawyer and special<br />

friends, Louise Johnson, Estelle Ferguson, and Mib Lambert. The family respectfully<br />

requests that flowers be omitted and memorials in memory of Mrs. Sawyer be made to the<br />

Robert F. Sawyer Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1169, Clearwater, SC 29822. Funeral<br />

services will be held Wednesday, morning, January 2nd, 2008, at 11 o'clock at Langley<br />

First Baptist Church, Langley, SC, with Dr. Chris Masters officiating. Interment will<br />

follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Jon Sawyer,<br />

Michael Sawyer, Eugene Sawyer, Samuel Sisson, John Harris, and Gregg Cato. Friends<br />

may call at the home of <strong>Gunn</strong> and Anne Sawyer, 1510 Brookstone Dr., Graniteville, SC.<br />

The family will receive friends Tuesday, evening, January 1st, 2008, from 6 until 8 o'clock<br />

at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC.<br />

Dorothy Harrelson <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

71, of Route 1, Pelham, N.C., died Thursday in The Memorial Hospital of Danville. A<br />

native of Caswell County, N.C., she was the daughter of Issaac Lofton Harrelson and<br />

Viola Allison Harrelson, who survives. She was the wife of Howard Stamey <strong>Gunn</strong>, who<br />

survives, and she was a homemaker. In addition to her husband and mother, survivors<br />

include one daughter, Linda Daniel of Pelham; one sister, Ethel Doyle of Ruffin; and two<br />

grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Prospect United<br />

Methodist Church by the Rev. Steve Strock. The family will receive friends at Hooper<br />

Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today-Danville Register & Bee Sat. 5-2-1992<br />

Dorothy <strong>Gunn</strong> (nee Jankovich) California / Gary, IN Dorothy <strong>Gunn</strong> (nee Jankovich), age<br />

87, of Torrance, CA, formerly of Gary, passed away in California, on Friday, November 7,<br />

2003. Dorothy was born December 22, 1915 in Kent, Washington. She was a member of St.<br />

Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Merrillville. A graduate of Emerson High School,<br />

class of 1932. She retired as the assistant to the President from the Orange County School<br />

Corporation in California. Preceded in death by her husband Dwight <strong>Gunn</strong> and brothers<br />

Nick, John and Mike Jankovich. Dorothy is survived by one sister: Violet Jankovich and<br />

one brother: Paul Jankovich, both of Merrillville; and numerous in-laws and nieces and<br />

nephews. Funeral srvices will be held Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at St.<br />

Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 8700 Taft Street, Merrillville. Very Reverend Lazar<br />

Kostur, officiating. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may<br />

call at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broaway, Merrillville, IN on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00<br />

p.m. A Pomen prayer service will be offered Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
