Lois <strong>Gunn</strong> Griffis<br />

HOUSTON, Texas - Graveside services for Lois Griffis, 82, Houston, Texas, are 11 a.m.<br />

Tuesday at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur, Okla., with family members officiating. Mrs. Griffis<br />

died Sept. 21, 2002, at Houston. She was born Aug. 9, 1920, at Chickasha, Okla., to James Otis<br />

and Odessa <strong>Gunn</strong> Cosgrove. She married Robert Dale Griffis in 1946 at Oklahoma City, Okla.<br />

He preceded her in death. She was a sales lady. She had lived in Oklahoma City before moving<br />

to Houston in 1959. Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Guidry, Sealy, Texas; a son, William<br />

Griffis, Houston, Texas; a stepdaughter, Linda Carpenter; two sisters, Jimmie Reagan,<br />

Oklahoma City, Okla., and Betty Brown, Connecticut; a brother, Art Cosgrove, Oklahoma<br />

City, Okla.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step- grandchildren. Clagg<br />

Funeral Home, Sulphur, Okla., is in charge of arrangements<br />

Lola <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

An elderly Columbus, Georgia woman died Wednesday afternoon from injuries she sustained<br />

in a morning traffic accident. Lola <strong>Gunn</strong>, 80, of Forest Drive, died at the Medical Centery<br />

from trauma from Sylvia Barrett 84, who was cited for running a red light. Barrett and<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>’s husband, Jack P. <strong>Gunn</strong> 85, were also taken to the Medical Center. September 1, 2005.<br />

Lola Boxall <strong>Gunn</strong> - Lola B. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

born September 10, 1925 died on August 31, 2005. Arrangements under the direction of<br />

Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, GA, 706.563.2372.<br />

Lola English <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Lala English <strong>Gunn</strong>, 73, Warren Co. native, widow of James Judson <strong>Gunn</strong> died at her home<br />

4/12/1948. She was a member of Johnson Methodist church and the WomensSociety of<br />

Christian Service. Her funeral will be held 4/13/1948 at Johnson Methodist Church, with the<br />

Rev. Lee Branham and Rev. J. W. Brinsfield officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.<br />

Pallbearers are nephews J. Bert Pool, Grogan S. <strong>Gunn</strong>, George P. Langford, Leon O. English,<br />

Lewis English, J. Lovick English. She is survived a sister Mrs. Steve B. Johnson and by her<br />

son Jamie S. <strong>Gunn</strong>, and grandchildren Martha Jane <strong>Gunn</strong> and James <strong>Gunn</strong>.<br />

Lola Esther <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

87, of Rector, Arkansas died Monday, June 11, 2007, at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation<br />

in Rector. Born Jan. 21, 1920, in Rector to the late William H. and Ludie May, she was a<br />

housewife and of the Baptist faith. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was very<br />

active in her church work. Also preceding her in death were her husband, John H. <strong>Gunn</strong>; two<br />

brothers, Oather May and Everette May; sister-in-law, Ellawee May; one sister, Lillie Stokes,<br />

and one nephew, Charles W. Carnovsky. Survivors include one sister, Helen Wilt of Paisley,<br />

Fla.; several nieces and nephews, Larry and Sue May of Madison Heights, Mich., Donald R.<br />

Wilt of Paisley, Fla., Linda Manners of Port Orange, Fla., Ray and Sherlie May of Sikeston,<br />

Mo., and Tom and Lana Sheer of Richmond, Texas. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m.<br />

Saturday, June 16, at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with Bro. Marston<br />

Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home<br />

in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Clovis DeMent, Steven DeMent, Ralph<br />

Featherston, R.V. Wesley, Junior Carpenter and Ron Benson.
