William. C. <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

aged 76 years, died this morning Marsh 12, 1921, at the home of his son Harvey <strong>Gunn</strong>, at 614<br />

Washington Avenue, after suffering for two weeks with paralysis. He had been In poor health<br />

for the past seven years but was not confined to his bed until two weeks ago. He has been a<br />

resident of Alton, Illinois for the past twenty years coming he from Girard, III. He Is survived<br />

by nine children namely, Charles and Jeff <strong>Gunn</strong> of Manhattan, Orvie <strong>Gunn</strong> of Kansas City<br />

and Harvey <strong>Gunn</strong> of Alton. The daughters are Mrs. J. R. Bunch Manhattan, Mrs. Lena<br />

Pettijohn Oxford, Nebr., Mrs. James Roberts and Mrs. Harold Cheesman of Altonand one<br />

brother. f Robert <strong>Gunn</strong> Granite City. Funeral services will be held at o'clock from the family<br />

home on Washington Avenue Sunday afternoon, Interment in Oakwood Cemetery in Alton.<br />

Was born in St. Louis, Mo on Jun 11, 2931. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> resided in Livonia, Mi, where he<br />

departed this earthly life on April 4, 2012. He was the beloved husband of the late Marion L.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, and the loving father of Patricia A. Sigwell, Peggy M. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Ronald R. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Pamela<br />

E. Gill (Jeff), Rebecca L <strong>Gunn</strong>, and Timothy R. <strong>Gunn</strong> (Justine). Also survived by 5 sisters, 1<br />

borther, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.<br />

William Clarence <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

REIDSVILLE - William Clarence "Willie" <strong>Gunn</strong>, 81, of 190 Blueberry Road died Saturday,<br />

June 24, 1995, at N.C. Baptist Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m.<br />

Monday at Wentworth United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Boyd Joyce<br />

officiating. A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Charlie A. and Cora<br />

Williams <strong>Gunn</strong> and had lived in the Wentworth Community his entire life. He was a member<br />

of Wentworth United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired Lab<br />

Technician at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital and owned and operated <strong>Gunn</strong>"s Peach<br />

Orchard and Blueberries. Survivors include wife, <strong>My</strong>rtle Sidden <strong>Gunn</strong> of the home; son, John<br />

Frank <strong>Gunn</strong> of the home; daughters, Virginia G. McElroy of Reidsville and Mary G. Harrell<br />

of Greenville, S.C.; and granddaughter, Laura Whitmire of Simpsonville, S.C. The family will<br />

be at the residence. Citty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be<br />

made to Wentworth United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 63, Wentworth, N.C. 27375.<br />

William D. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Published March 8, 1967 - Graveside services for William D. <strong>Gunn</strong>, 58, a Pasadena California<br />

resident from 1917 to 1963 will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Mt. View Mausoleum in Mt.<br />

View, Ca. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> died Monday at his home in Santa Barbara where he had lived since<br />

1963. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a graduate of Pasadena High School and Pasadena City College and<br />

USC with an accounting degree. He was employed by the State Department of Employment<br />

and later with the Internal Revenue Service in Los Angeles. He joined the Army in 1943 and<br />

was retired in 1963 as a chief warrant officer. Survivors include his widow the former Inez<br />

Effinger and a daughter Phoebe <strong>Gunn</strong> both of Santa Barbara. Member of the San Pasqual<br />

Lodege will officiate at the grave side rites following funeral servies Thursday morning in<br />

Santa Barbara.<br />
