Stanford Spurgeon <strong>Gunn</strong>, Sr.<br />

47, died Saturday in this barracks room in North Richland. A plumber for Blaw-Knox, he<br />

had been in this area for about 2 months. He was born Aug. 17, 1907 at Lauderdale, Miss.<br />

Mr <strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by his wife Mary Lee <strong>Gunn</strong>, of Hattiesburg, Miss., two daughters,<br />

Mary Elizabeth Cargo, Cartersville, Miss. and Betty Jean Hensorling, Meridian, Miss. one<br />

son Stanford Spurgeon <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr of Pensacola, Fla; four sisters and one brother. The body<br />

was sent by Mueller Funeral Home to Hattiesburg, Miss. for funeral services. Sept 7, 1954<br />

age 77, resident of Okla. City, died Wednesday. Services will be Saturday, 1 pm, in the<br />

July 29, 1924 toJanuary 26, 2012 GUNN, ELIZABETH A. July 23, 1925 to January 28, 2012<br />

Stiles (Skeets) passed away on January 26, 2012 at the age of 87. He was born in Paris, Texas.<br />

He served in the Navy in World War II aboard the USS Carter Hall. He met Elizabeth in San<br />

Diego while stationed there. They were married 67 years and lived in the San Diego area<br />

until they moved to Temecula in 2002. Elizabeth (Betty) passed away on January 28, 2012 at<br />

the age of 86. She was born in Columbus, Ohio and moved with her family to San Diego<br />

when she was a teenager. Skeets retired from Western Electric after 32 years service. Skeets<br />

was a Mason and an Elk. Betty worked briefly at Western Union then became a<br />

home-maker. Skeets and Betty are survived by daughter Sheri Holt and son Gary <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

both of Temecula, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Skeets is also survived by<br />

sister, Chris Meade of Oklahoma City and Betty is survived by brother Ralph Cramer of La<br />

Mesa. A service for both will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park & Mortuary, 4300<br />

Imperial Ave., San Diego, on Saturday, February 4, 2012, in the Garden Chapel. Viewing is<br />

at 10:00 a.m., with service at 12:00 p.m. Edition: First Edition Page: B-4 San Diego<br />

Sylvia <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

WAHRBNSBUBG, Mo., May 6, 1892.—At KnobNoster, just east of here, Jennie Mitchell<br />

and Sylvia <strong>Gunn</strong>, two little girls, aged 6 years, were run over and killed by tha east bound<br />

passenger train on the Missouri Pacific. The accident happened where tbe track crosses the<br />

main street of the town.<br />

Former Ignacio resident Sylvia <strong>Gunn</strong> died of complications from meningitis in Denver,<br />

Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008. She was 61. She was born to Graves and Genevieve<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> in Ignacio on Sept. 23, 1946. She was a member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. She<br />

attended Ignacio public schools and graduated from an American Indian school in<br />

Oklahoma. Her family said she was good with children and worked at the Southern Ute<br />

Head Start and day care facility. She also lived in Glencoe, Ill., as a nanny. Ms. <strong>Gunn</strong> had<br />

spent her most recent years in Denver. Her family said she was known as "Aunt Syl" to
