Randall <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

March 18, 1948 -June 24, 2004 Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist<br />

Church of El Centro for Randall John <strong>Gunn</strong> Sr. of El Centro, 56, who died Thursday at his<br />

home. The Rev. Michael Beach of First Baptist Church will officiate. Following the memorial<br />

there will be a luncheon in the church hall. Cremation is planned for July 7. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was<br />

born March 18, 1948, in San Francisco. Before arriving in the Imperial Valley, he worked for<br />

the Indio Daily <strong>New</strong>s. He came to the Valley in 1979 and worked as an ironworker. After<br />

becoming blind due to complications of diabetes, he returned to Imperial Valley College in<br />

1982, studied computer programming and earned an associate"s degree. According to<br />

family, for some time he worked for Dr. Haworth in X-ray. He then worked for the Imperial<br />

Valley Independent Living Center. He volunteered for the Blind Center and Ellis Home for<br />

the Homeless. His goal was to live life to the fullest and not be stopped by his blindness and<br />

diabetes, family said, which added there is no question he accomplished every goal he set for<br />

himself. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> always was willing and determined to help the community, family said.<br />

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.Survivors include his children, Dana<br />

Bailie of Indio, Channing Halkias of Turlock and Randall J. <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. and Thomas Edwin<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, both of El Centro; siblings, Mia Vargas of Palm Springs and Kevin Dumas of San<br />

Bernardino; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.The family suggests<br />

memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church of El Centro, 724 Orange Ave.<br />

Randall Greg <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

PLANT CITY - Randall "Greg" <strong>Gunn</strong>, 48, of Plant City, Florida departed this life June 21,<br />

2009. Cause is pending. Greg is survived by his wife of 28 years, Vickie; daughter, Miranda<br />

Justin and husband Will; granddaughter, Jada Justin; mother, Faye <strong>Gunn</strong>; and brother,<br />

David <strong>Gunn</strong>. He was preceded in death by his father, Graham <strong>Gunn</strong>. Greg was a member of<br />

Millwright Union 1000, was a sales account executive in the family business CW-21, Inc.,<br />

working primarily in the Phosphate industry for 22 years. The family will receive friends for<br />

visitation Thurs., June 25, 2009 beginning at 5pm at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 County<br />

Rd. 39 S., Plant City. Memorial services will follow at 6pm with Gary <strong>Gunn</strong> officiating.<br />

Randolph Wellford <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr.,<br />

85, formerly of Richmond died May 7, 1996. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> began his career in banking with<br />

State Planters Bank (now Crestar) in Richmond. He worked 35 years with Virginia Federal<br />

Savings and Loan where he retired as Executive Vice-President. He remained on the Board<br />

of Directors for Virginia Federal for a number of years after his retirement to Tapphannock,<br />

Va. He served in the Army during WW II in Germany. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a member of the<br />

Tappahannock Rotary Club, the Country Club of Virginia and was a charter member of<br />

Ginter Park United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. <strong>Gunn</strong>; a<br />

daughter, Susan G. Quisenberry; a sister, Virginia G. Blanton; and a brother, Richard E.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> of Williamsburg. The family will receive friends today at the Central Chapel of<br />

Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held<br />

Friday, May 10th, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
